Description
SynopsisFinally there's a game that friends, kids and parents can enjoy together — Smarty Pants. This trivia showdown proves once and for all who's the brainiest one in the bunch. This intelligent game for Nintendo Wii tracks each answer and adjusts the difficulty level for each player, so questions aren't too easy or too hard. Knowledge is only part of this equation; you'll still need to use the unique Wii gestures to spin the category wheel, engage in tugs-of-war over correct answers and dance for additional points.Smarty Pants features 20,000 questions that are sorted according to players' ages in order to level the playing field. Use the interactive Wii Remote to crank the spinner, raise your hand and perform other movements that get your body moving and grooving. In addition, each category is fully localized with country-appropriate content for North America, the UK, France, Germany, Spain or Italy. Up to four friends or family members can play at once in the fast-paced, quick-fire Versus mode or team-based co-op play. The questions are adjusted for difficulty based on the players ages. This makes it great for a family. Youngsters can compete. It doesn't make much use of the wii controller though. Most of the game is just point or shake to signal that you're answering the question. Certain questions can get higher point value if you dance with the controller. We thought that the timer was way too short. It made it better to guess than actually think about the questions. This limited the game's educational value.

This is a great game for large groups of 3-8 players. Eight players sounds like a lot, but 4 teams of 2 each can really change the dynamic and make it more fun. With a large group of players this really become a fun trivia game.
The questions are based on the users age, but only if you choose to enter the users age. One time we selected 3years old just for fun and one of the questions that came up was "A clothing item that can be worn on your head?". Also the use of the Wii controller makes it fun. You don't just push a button to ring in you have to push a button and jerk up on the controller.
One downside is that I think every time a new player is created it starts asking the questions from the beginning again. Another issue is that the questions are too easy, not the subject material but the fact that you can almost guess the answer knowing nothing about the question just eliminating the answers that don't make sense.
Overall this is a fun game for family and friends. The fact that you can play with teams makes it even more entertaining and its pretty easy to overlook the issues with the questions.

A Favorite Wii GAme

We have already had $19.99 worth of fun and we have recently purchased this game. The questions are challenging enough for my husband who was a big winner on television trivia show and easy enough for our kids. When you begin the game you type in your age and the questions are then customized. It is gets you up and moving with dance challenges and is still a respectable trivia challenge. We were laughing and learning all afternoon. This game exceeded our expectations and is a family favorite.

Fun Party Game

I really love this game. I have played it dozens of times and have hardly had a question repeated! Both the Wager and Countdown modes are fun, although the Wager mode takes a lot longer because you have to shoot the point values after each person spins. And it's nice to see categories like Fashion, Entertainment, and Video Games mixed in, and not just the boring "school" subjects.
I have just a few complaints. As adults, doing the Double Points Dance is foolish. If you own the game, you know what I mean. Also the Family mode is not fun. Players all work together to answer the question, but if there are any disagreements about what the answer is, you're all at the mercy of the person manning the Wiimote. Lastly, the Solo play is boring. You can't use your Mii, you have to play as a guest, and all you do is answer questions until a timer runs out. There's no way to tell if you did better than last time you played solo.
Overall I have been extremely happy with the game. My boyfriend and I play nearly every day, sometimes several times. It's also fun at a party.

I'm 28 and I played with my 16 yr and 18 yr. nieces and their gradma (58) I think that it's great that the questions are geared toward your age. It's a really fun trivia game. In addition, it has it's goofy things like the double points dance (you'll) see. It's a great family game and a great party game. What more could you ask for $20? :)

I agree with most of what others have said. This is a great kid-friendly game that can be a bit hard for really young players. Here's a tip for playing with the youngsters: older players should enter as the same ages as the youngest ones, this way the game will always ask questions targeted to the youngsters. You'd be surprised at the questions that can stump you at this age level.
We played this game at many a family game night. Highly recommended at $20.

I have only played this game a few times, but each time I find that the questions are not so easy. This is a great challenge, but some of the questions are hard, and very specific. The questions are hard because they reference things that a 20 year old would have no clue about; for instance asking about a character in a movie from a long time ago.
