A: Hi, Thanks for your question. These grilles will not work properly with the MAG6R speakers. The speaker grilles attach using magnets however, using the 8" grille on a 6.5" speaker may result in the grille falling off the speaker. You may want to see if the MAG8R speaker would be a better fit for the existing holes in your ceiling. A: Hi, Yes, these grilles are held in place magnetically when used with our Sonance Professional Series speakers. The magnets used to hold the grille are embedded in the speaker not the grille.
