My newest Sonos speaker is a great addition.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent sound across a wide range of music. I’m really impressed with the bass which is a huge improvement over the smaller Sonos One. Very portable, just remember to place it back on the recharge stand after each use. Super easy to setup. Clearly one of the best portable speakers out there.

Sonos Move: Expensive, but worth it!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bass: 8/10 Mids: 6/10 Treble: 7/10 Sound stage: 7.5/10 Portability: 6/10 Range: 9/10 Connectivity: 9/10 Build Quality: 10/10 Battery life: (too soon to make adequate rating) Overall Value: 9/10 Start with the obvious... the price is prohibitive especially for what is considered a portable speaker. Sonos is makes up for it with exceptional build quality, thoughtful software integration and sound quality. The bass is rich, warm and surprisingly robust. Highs are clear, crisp and distinct. Mids are little muddy and seem washed out on some recordings. Sound stage is remarkable for a stand-alone speaker and if the cash is there, buying a second for a stereo pair could be a legitimate replacement for many hi-fi implementations. It is a legitimate portable speaker... but it does have some heft. This is due to outstanding build quality and additional weight of a battery. Charging stand is elegant and understated. It also has a usb-c port. Listening at 60% volume, in large room, mids 90s hip hop mix: 90 minutes consumed about 8% - but this is right out of box so a couple of cycles will be needed to gauge battery life. Ultimately Sonos continues its run of quality hardware with excellent sound performance at premium pricing. If the cash is available - it is one of the best portables on the market AND makes a great addition to any home theatre setup.

Solid sound as part of Sonos network or standalone
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. At initial setup, the Sonos Move is just like any other Sonos speaker that you add to your WiFi network using the Sonos app. Only at that point, do you get the new option to switch the Move to being a standalone Bluetooth speaker. A bit disappointing is the fact you have to press a physical button on the back of the speaker to toggle between WiFi and Bluetooth; one would hope the app could do that as well. Moving the compact 6.5lb Move is easy with a grooved handle at the top. The Move does not have AC and so it must be charged on a regular basis but advertised to last 10 hours. The sound quality (Bluetooth or WiFi) seems as good as the other Sonos speakers. Overall, recommended but it would nice if there was an integrated Bluetooth/WiFi option to allow group connectivity with the other Sonos speakers when using a Bluetooth connection.

My second Move set as a stereo pair.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the second Move that I have purchased. We are a Sonos family, so it was a great addition to our mix. We are using the Move as a stereo pair for when we sit outside by the firepit or are floating in the pool, and it is a lot better than taking our old speakers outside and lugging extension cords. Have had them playing for up to 6 hours without any battery issues. It will shut itself off if you are not playing it after a while to save battery and you have to physically hit the button to take it out of sleep mode. The charging "ring" that it sits on when being charged is convenient and lessens the possibility of cords wearing out from plugging and unplugging. The sound is great, and the device auto adjusts to its surroundings to give a great stereo sound. Even with one unit, the sound is really great. The voice control "hey Sonos" works well and seems to understand commands easily to skip songs or change the volume. At least, it worked when I didn't call it Alexa. My one complaint is that it does not pair to Spotify from within the Spotify app, like our other Sonos speakers. You can select Spotify from within the Sonos app, but the capabilities are missing that the Spotify app has. I hope they fix that. Also, it has a nice handle on the back which makes it easy to move around (no pun intended) since it is a bit heavy. But even as a single unit (not stereo paired) the sound is terrific. I have not tried the volume above 60% because I like my neighbors. It is quite loud and I didn't notice any distortion at the higher volumes. It also syncs perfectly with my other Sonos speakers when I want to have the whole house rockin and can play different music than the rest of the house if desired, like the other Sonos speakers can; basically works just like any other Sonos speaker when grouped or played stand alone.

Sound great, work well!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought one to try and like it so much bought a second one to make them a stereo pair. First, let me say I've never had a Sonos product. For inside house have a standard stereo system and have used the Apple HomePod speakers. The Homepods sound really good and I'd read in reviews they generally beat out Sonos products in sound quality. But we needed some speakers to take outdoor and Apple's just don't work for outdoor as they are plug-in only. I was very pleasantly surprised at the great sound quality of the Move. Sound as good if not better to me than Apple's HomePod. They are also more versatile. You can adjust EQ, which I love. And they of course have a battery and can be moved around. Love that for outdoors. They sound great outside. Batteries have never run out, have used for five or six hours and they still had over half left. Sometimes it's tricky finding the right spot to place them but better than other small portable speakers we tried by far. I also love bringing them back inside our home and using the airplay feature to play music with them and the Apple Homepods altogether. A great wrap-around sound. It's also very quick and easy to unpair the speakers. I do this and bring one upstairs to use. LOVE these! Pricey but worth it.

Great sounding speaker, with an OK battery life
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The ease with which Sonos speakers are detected in Sonos app and get connected over wifi is something really fascinating. Got this speaker up and running in 2min max, and that includes updating to latest firmware. Speaker sounds great, and has auto truetone feature which adjusts sound (not drastically but slightly) according to speaker placement in room. Noticed music breaking once over Sonos app, i.e. song suddenly stopped playing on the speaker even when I could see it moving forward in the app. Reducing one star for that and the average battery life it provides considering the size and weight. But still it is good to run for at least 8-9 hours depending on volume level.

Q: QuestionCan I pair other sonos speakers?
Asked by MARCOPOLO.
- A:Answer It can be added to a group of speakers, but you cannot pair it as a stereo pair with other speakers. It can only be paired as a stereo pair with another Sonos Move.
Answered by Reno
Q: QuestionCan it be placed in direct sunlight? Are there plastic components that could melt?
Asked by Steve.
- A:Answer This electronic is built like a tank. I have had 10hr days fishing on a bass boat with no issues. I have used it outside in direct sunlight for up to 8hrs while working in the yard and in our pool. Living in the desert where temperatures can reach 120 degrees anything will eventually wear. To date the hottest temp has been 107 and I have experienced no issues.

Q: QuestionWill it pair up to a wifi TV?
Asked by HOP3.

Q: QuestionCan I play 2+ Move speakers via its Bluetooth connection — for a mono sound.
Asked by TexBob.
- A:Answer It's my understanding that two of these Sonos "Move" speakers can be paired for stereo sound using WiFi but NOT Bluetooth. You can use them INDIVIDUALLY using Bluetooth (but not two of them). If you want stereo sound using two speakers, you can only do that using WiFi. Hope that makes sense.

Q: QuestionCan this be left outside plugged in, since it is waterproof?
Asked by bsardo.
- A:Answer The Move is designed to live wherever works best for your listening. However, you would need to make sure the electrical outlet is protected from the elements. The Move itself can withstand all types of weather but needs to be properly connected to weather proof outlets.
