Great Focal Range Covering Standard Primes
Bought this lens to pair up with an A7CII since I was looking to pair the smaller body with a relatively smaller lens that I could keep attached during travel. Needless to say, I'm really impressed with the quality of the lens - both the build and the image it produces. I'm not a pixel peeper, but I found the images to be incredibly sharp, even wide open. Autofocus worked like a charm when I took it for a spin at a recent car show. On the 50nm end, I found the image to match or exceed that of the 50mm f/1.8. Since I tend to shoot 35mm and higher, the reverse barrel extension did not bother me at all since it was already at the focal length I default to in it's unextended state. The major tradeoff here from the smaller prime lenses that Sony offers (24mm, 40mm, 50mm f/2.5G and even thr 50mm f/1.8) is that it is heavier even for being an already compact lens. That being said, it feels like it's built like a tank, and the heft gives the lens a sense of quality and durability.

Great alternative to the GM24-70 2.8.
Great alternative to the GM24-70 2.8(both the original and new one. Image quality is hard to tell from the original GM24-70 2.8 minus the obvious 20mm at the long end but worth the size and weight savings, compared to the new one you do lose a bit of contrast with direct sunlight in the frame but otherwise image quality is hard to tell(at least in my 24MP a9iii body and my crop 26MP) I plan to eventually pick up the G 16-25 2.8 to complete the set

Sharp Light Lens
I got this as my first lens with my new Sony Alpha7Cii, and it works perfectly. Lightweight and sharp. It's just what I was looking for as a "walking around lens" and something I could take with me on vacation.
