Q: Dumb question but does this sony headset connect to xbox series x as well or only PS5 exclusive?
A: It seems like Sony limited connectivity as much as possible so no. With only 19db of noise cancelling they are about as good as a pair of Sony xb910n's which are around $130
Q: How effective is the Noise cancelling (ANC) compared to WH-1000XM4?
A: Not as good and 10db less noise cancelling ability vs xm5's and 12 less than xm4's. People seem to think they are just xm4's or 5's with some visual changes and a mic but they aren't. I wasted $300 to find out because I bought a pair of these and a pair of xm5's to replace my xm4's then took these and the xm4's apart. Different radios aside (needed for ps5 USB dongle) they have different model number chips in the noise cancelling system and looking through Sony's parts guide showed that they were just a size shrink but had different specs and compatibility between devices. The microphones for ANC were also from lower end models than xm4's showing more in common with the xb910n Then I did actually testing and they had worse noise cancelling than even xm3's so I believe they are based on the xb910n headphones internally as they have the same ANC profile and speaker + bass tube layout.
Q: Is the microphone detachable?
A: No the mic is not detachable
Q: Can you connect a phone or multiple devices
A: I can connect my ps5 and my phone at the same time
Q: Is the mic itself noise canceling? Would it be effective enough for call center work?
A: The mic itself is not “noise cancelling”. However, I use these for work as well. I myself work in a call center based job and they sound great with no issues. When speaking to customers the mic is clear and the audio is as well.
A: Hello oopface, Thank you for considering Sony products! We appreciate your inquiry and are pleased to assist you. Yes, the Sony WH-G900N headphones feature Sidetone functionality. This feature makes it easier to talk while wearing the headphones by allowing the microphone to pick up your voice and play it back naturally, so you can hear yourself clearly during calls. Q: How do you connect them to your ps5?
A: Comes with a wireless bung you just plug into your system. Very easy to pair. Will do it automatically.
Q: Will this work with the PlayStation portal.
A: Sí perfectamente

I have tested these briefly (~1hr) on both PC and PS5. Packaging: Is fairly eco-friendly, with minimal unnecessary plastics. Can be broken down for recycling with paper products. Dongle: The USB dongle is needed for both PC and PS5. I had assumed you wouldn't need the dongle on PS5 because it would handle transmission via Bluetooth, but I'm assuming they could get better audio quality/bandwidth with the dongle vs Bluetooth. So you will need to dongle it up. On the plus side, the end of the dongle glows with a little white circle which is kind of cool. Have I said dongle enough yet? If not... dongle. I have not tested the microphone. I do not have any friends. Nobody's fault but my own. Aesthetically, these seem similar to the Sony XM5s. The headband seems thicker with more cushion, based on screenshots. I don't have the XM5s because my XM4s are like 7 months old and I don't want to dive in for the incremental upgrades. Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) fits in with the Sony gold standard, though it does drop your wireless time from 32 or whatever to 20 hours (I obviously haven't tested the real world times yet). If you don't have a noisy environment, you can leave ANC disabled, as these are closed back cans and in my quick tests don't bleed in a ton of external audio. In a comparison with the also recently purchased Arctis Nova Pro set, I find these a little more comfortable, and while the Arctis has very precise audio, the Sony set feels both precise, and more robust. Tested for audio positioning on Returnal and general good times on Hollow Knight. I'd rank the Sony on top on both. If you were looking for the best set for Hi-Res audio... don't be fooled, you want all different headphones and equipment. Don't get suckered into crossover tech. The one and only complaint of any sincerity I would have with this set is they are BIG. Understand in my 'for comparison' photos, the banana is LARGE. I feel like I should be standing there flagging in aircraft for a safe landing when wearing these. That said, these are, again, a pretty light headset. So you do not need to learn semaphore signaling to don this gear. So yeah, unless the audio quality on the mic turns out to suck pretty bad, these are the best you can get for PS5 at the moment, and probably at least a tie for PC.

Good headset below msrp. Its audio is not quite what it should be for the price but it is still good. The ANC actually works really well especially for a gaming headset. The MIC audio is a little trashy and should be removable. The comfort is really nice but I have heard issues of the longevity of the headband. It should be able to send a wired signal. For an Open Box deal of $130 I would say it is a really nice headset but don’t spend $330.

Picked up the Sony Inzone H9 as an open box item, and honestly, I was a little nervous at first. The box was torn in a few places. But once I opened it up... wow. The headset was completely untouched. No scratches, no wear — looked and felt brand new! Now let’s talk about performance: Designed for Gamers – Spatial sound is super immersive. I can pinpoint footsteps and gunfire direction in competitive games. Active Noise Cancellation – Works shockingly well, even for a gaming headset. Blocks out background noise like a champ. Extreme Comfort – Soft, plush ear cups and lightweight design make it easy to wear for hours without pressure or sweat. Long Battery Life – Easily gets me through multiple sessions without needing a recharge. Customizable with Inzone Hub – Tons of options to fine-tune sound profiles, mic sensitivity, and more. But it doesn't carry over to the PS5. Seamless Switching – Works great with both my PC and PS5 — super easy to jump between platforms. Bottom line: if you're on the fence about the open box deal, don’t be. The headset inside was flawless, and you're getting a premium headset for less. Total win!
