      Know your TV before you buy this item

      I was excited about finally being able to watch TV through a quality set of headphones while my wife slept . The excitement turned to disappointment when I opened the box. The sales rep told me it contained everything I needed to set up the headphones, No, not true. Your TV needs to have either left/right RCA output jacks to connect to the headphone transmitter (mine does not, it is an LG 42 inch) or you need a headphone jack on the TV to connect with the transmitter (again, my LG does not). The only cable included is a stereo mini-plug to mini-plug. You're out of luck if you need an RCA to mini-plug cable (sold separately). My old wireless headphones let me connect to the cable/satellite receiver box, but the newer boxes do not have the connections to do this. So check your TV first before you waste your time/money. I gave this a 2 because the packaging tells you neither what is included in the box nor what the TV requirements are. I can't comment on the sound quality because....I can't connect it to my TV. The headphones however are quite comfortable!

      I had to unfortunately but this model to replace the previous model we loved but went out after 1 year!!!! That previous model was Sony wireless MDR-RF985RK WE LOVED THOSE BIT DIDNT LAST! Bought this model for my dad AND FOR 2 WEEKS BAVK N FORTH TO BEST BUY WILL NOT WORK! Have setup w Samsung smart tv via 3.5mm that came with & bought ANOTHER SET OF A/V banana plugs separately) AND AN ADAPTER ! ALL 3 DO NOT WORK! Nothing works! No sound at all!!! Same place & position as other Model that all of a sudden went out & NOW THESE ARE WORTHLESS UNFORTUNATELY!! sioooo frustrated!!!! My dad needs headphones for his tv & now at a loss as to what to do !!!! So much time spent w reps who cannot help( I even bring pics of connections on samsung tv I bought FROM BEST BUY IN JANUARY) & they continue to sell me another set of cables & say THIS will work——4 more hours yesterday & STILL DO NOT WORK!!!!

      Moved my Mother-in-law to a nursing home. She shares a room with another woman who complains about my Mother-in-laws TV volume. Purchased this item from Best Buy, thought it would resolve the problem. Setup was not an isssue but after two days the headphones stopped working and I returned the system for another one. Over the past few months there were no issues but she now complained about it not working. Thought that the people at the facilities were not hanging up the headphone correctly. Sometimes the headphones needed to be adjusted for the red light to come on indicating charging. She still complained that it did not work. I brought the system home and let charge for a full 24 hours to find that the red light did not stay on. Had to reposition headset. Waited an additional 12 hours same issue. I have not had any luck with this specific product. I’ll need to find something else. This system is about six months old.

      I spent a week researching Wireless Home Theater Headphones from multiple online reviews. Compared prices, setup & personal situation requirements, (small apartment with thin walls). Finally decided on these. Purchased them yesterday & put on charge, (was a pain having to wait 7 hours for supplied rechargeable battery to fully charge but these do come with the option of using two AAA batteries - Non rechargeable). Connected very quickly using my TV variable RCA output to "Y" mini stereo jack, (I had to buy this separately!). Switched off the TV speaker & have been watching Sports & Movies for a few hours with them today. Overall very satisfied. Sound quality is good. They fit nicely around my ears. Light & comfortable. For the price I think these are a Best Buy!

      We've been using Sony RF headphones for many years now and I can honestly say this new model is not up to par. The signal lacks the strength of the previous model. I could go anywhere in our home, upstairs, out on the patio, into the garage, even to the end of our driveway, etc., and the signal came through loud and clear. With this model, not so much. Really disappointed and if it's not too late to return them, I probably will. Sorry, we really wanted them to work out, because the ear pads on the previous pair began to fall apart and one (1) ear pad replacement from Sony is $10.80! Since the headphones are a few years old, decided to purchase a new pair instead of spending nearly $25 on two small ear pads. When they didn't have the old model any longer, decided to purchase the latest & greatest new model which turned out to be a mistake. The previous model I'd recommend all day, these ones, no.

      I originally purchased these because my very hard of hearing mother came to live with me and she would always have the tv volume up very loudly. She is able to wear these and hear the tv and I can watch the the same tv and control my own volume at the same time. The quality is excellent. I often listen to music on the tv and walk around the house with these while cleaning and the sound quality is perfect even while I am moving around. I myself can hear backgrounds sounds while watching tv I never heard before while listening to the tv without them. It is very easy to keep them charged. You just toss them back onto the stand when finished and they always stay charged. I have never had a problem with them. Highly recommended by me.

      Great sound except for the constant clicking! I've read a few other reviews that did not mention this but I've also read many that did, so I'm not sure if it's hit and miss depending on how it's connected, but the only cable that is supplied is a 3.5mm-to-3.5mm. I have a high-end receiver that has a 1/4" headphone input, so I used a 1/4"-to-3.5mm(1/8") adaptor. I also purchased a RCA-to-3.5mm which did not fix the sound interference. *Note - I returned this Sony RF995RK and exchanged it for another brand (Insignia NS-WHP314). I am currently listening to/watching a movie and while the sound quality is not as good as Sony, there is absolutely no clicking or sound interference and I connected in the same manner.

      The plastic feels light & cheap (I'm afraid I'll break them). The sound quality is on par with a pair of iPhone earbuds (though a little better bass). But what makes this a 1-star product is the terrible RF antennae -- I constantly get static pops & volume adjustments as it tries to tune the RF signal, no matter which channel I've selected. It may be in my area there's a lot of interference (though I have no idea from what), so you may not get my horrible experience, but I could not listen to a single song. I'm returning them.
