Premature Cancellation
I was shopping my local Best Buy store and found Season2 of Stargate Universe on DVD for $10! Season2 was also the final season for this prematurely cancelled series spinoff of the Stargate franchise. With the long-running success of Stargate SG1, the multiple spinoffs (Atlantis and then Universe) running concurrently seemed to strain the core Stargate production/writing/production team. I enjoyed watching SGU again. After a slow genesis in season1, SGU was beginning to develop it's own unique storyline and cast going into season2. As SGU seemed to gel and becoming established on its own as a series, it was abruptly cancelled. The final episode, to me, was bittersweet ending to the potential of this series.

Final Installment
Although this was a good continuation to the Stargate Universe, this was the second and final season. The Good is that it does stay constant with the star gate franchise. The Bad (spoiler alert so don't read on if you don't want to know), unlike some series they don't end the series on a positive, or even negative note. They just leave you with a cliff hanger.

Good, not great
An excellent premise, fans of the Stargate universe (SG1, Atlantis) will enjoy this series, but it doesn't leave you "blown away" like you might expect. The acting is good, but the show was cancelled too early and the writers tried to shoehorn too much into each episode. Well worth the watch, but not something you'd stand in line for a midnight release.
