A: This Swann Security System is just a hard wired set-up, DVR - Cable -Cameras. DVR is your computer here, which saves up all your monitored recordings. However, If you want it as in Mobile Surveillance, then you need IP address set-up and either Computer or your Mobile device as you wish. Q: How many hours of recording space is 500gb capable of?
A: I am only getting 3 days of recording at 1080p. will be replacing hard drive in the future.
Q: How many feet are the cables that come with this system?
A: Each cable is 60 feet in length. They are know as BNC cables, and you can either buy longer cables (recommended) if needed, or buy a second longer cable which should come with Male-to-Female adapters to connect the 2 cables together. (The longer cable is recommended over connecting 2 together to reduce possible signal loss)

A: Hello, If your previous Night Owl unit has the same resolution and operates on the same video signal then it should work. This Swann unit is a 1080P TVI unit. Keep in mind we can not fully guarantee the compatibility since we have not tested the Night Owl cameras with a Swann system.
