Nice TV for $1000
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Picked up this TV a few days ago and hung it in time for the superbowl I have a 2018 TCL 55" 6 series in a bright sunroom with 8 windows. This new 75" is in a long narrow darker room with no windows in front or behind the TV. That's part of the reason why I went with the 5 series over 6 to save some money. Watched some Netflix 4K content like Lost in Space and initial impressions are good. I ran the TCL iphone calibration app which has mixed reviews I'm not getting this professionally calibrated so it'll have to do All my TVs have Roku built-in or a streaming stick plus. The only minor gripe is the remote on the 5 series is cheap feeling. In the picture it is the remote on the right. It's very light and the buttons don't give a good response. The older 6 series remote in the left side of the photo is better built (also has voice). Sound is average at best but I use a Vizio soundbar that still need to mount just stacked it on some boxes for now. Roku OS seems responsive. We use this for YouTubeTv and other services. We don't play video games. I took down a 10 year old 60" Sony LED by myself (mounted that TV a few times myself). Mounting this 5lb heavier 75" TCL is definitely a two person job. My wife did the other side while we snapped it on the brackets. I ended up moving the wall mount and brackets 4" to raise this up a bit. Overall a nice 75" QLED with local dimming for $1000 is a solid deal. If the 75" 6 series was $200 more instead of $400, I would have gone up to that model. $400 is a 40% price increase and wasnt worth it to me.

Great picture but panel is not perfect!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm upgrading from a TCL 55" 55US57-W (Black Friday Model) and you can right away tell the improvement in picture quality and colors on this TV. Deep blacks and good contrast on all sources with good motion for sports. On over the air antenna stations using the calibration settings from RTINGS.com, such as Picture Mode: Movie gives the best natural skins tones, but for a sharp picture for 720p & 1080i content you need to set the sharpness to 55. (sharpness on streaming apps are fine on default) I also like that the sound is leveled on all apps, live TV also, so you don't have to change the sound for each because one is louder than the other. 4K HDR is not optimized on this TV and looks too dark out of the box, you need need to change picture settings to Bright Dolby Vision and Bright HDR on each app for it to be decent. In my opinion, regular 4K SDR looks better than HDR on this TV. For example Cobra Kai on Netflix is 4k SDR and looks amazing with its brightness and vivid colors, The Tick on Amazon is HDR and looks good once you set it to bright but not as good as Cobra Kai. Now here is bad news the panel, this panel has Gray Uniformity along the edges and slight Dirty Screen Effect towards the middle (pictured) just like it states on RTING.com (they are 100% accurate with their reviews) unfortunately they didn't mention this in their verdict of review which is the first thing you see, you have to scroll all the way down to the Gray Uniformity section for this info. This should be one of the cons in review summary? Anyways not a deal breaker for me, I noticed another reviewer posted a pic with the same issue (Lost panel lottery post) and his looked better than mines and he returned it. I would rather have his panel LOL! My point is most folks won't even notice this stuff in less you read a lot reviews and learn to look for it. Overall I'm happy since you really don't notice this with most content, only on white backgrounds. Oh one more thing, someone mentioned about the remote being cheaply made than before. The plastic they use is just lighter than what they use to use, maker it just lighter.

BIG TV Lackluster Picture
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you want BIG at a not so big price then this TV may be worth it. We have a big living room and wanted to upgrade from our 55" to something more substantial And this TV is substantial! It is very big and very heavy. The picture is just okay. There is noticeable uniformity issues across the panel in bright sky scenes or white scenes or scenes that are brighter with quick panning shots. It does not have good wide angle viewing but these types of panels are known for that! It has Roku built in which is probably my favorite feature. It is still quick and snappy and very easy to use. If I had to do it again I suppose I would exchange it in hopes of a better outcome on the panel lottery but overall it still is a good TV especially if you want a 70+" without spending over $1,000. The Roku really helps it shine!

TCL for the win
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It’s been a solid tv, I enjoyed the Roku until I got an Apple TV. Game mode does help reduce input lag going from hdr to Dolby vision. TCL is know not to have the brightest tvs but I never had an issue.

Best quality for cost deal
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is one of the best bang for your buck deals for a tv. The picture quality is amazing with deep blacks and nice contrast. I have a discrete sound system and use the Nvidia Shield for streaming so I cannot comment on those aspects, but I am very happy with my purchase.

Q: QuestionI understand that the legs can be placed closer to the center for a smaller footprint. What are the dimensions of that leg placement closer to the center?
Asked by JoJo.
- A:Answer For this 75 inch TCL Roku TV, there are actually 2 different options for feet placement. At the wider position, the feet spacing to fit on a stand is 65.7 inches. At the more narrow position, the feet spacing to fit on a stand is 36.2 inches. The feet are 16.2 inches deep. You would simply choose whichever option would best fit your home setup. Hope this helps! Thank you, TCL Customer Support

Q: QuestionIf this gets delivered, how can I get it back to a store if I need to exchange it. I have no vehicle to transport a 75” tv. Thanks
Asked by Km.
- A:Answer I exchanged mines via chat, they will pick up the old one and deliver the new one. Probably could do it over the phone and there is no option to do this yourself online.

Q: QuestionI saw in a previous question that you mentioned Dolby digital plus. Does that mean if I am watching a streaming’s service that offers Dolby atmos with the 5 series I won’t be able to receive this codec.
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer This TCL Roku TV supports Dolby Digital Plus passthrough and processing. It does not support Dolby Atmos. Hope this helps! Thank you, TCL Customer Support

Q: QuestionDoes this TV have bluetooth capability?
Asked by Tony.
- A:Answer Currently, our Roku based TVs do not support Bluetooth. If you are trying to connect a sound bar or speakers you can use the Optical port, or the HDMI ARC port. For Headphones, there is a Headphone jack on the back of the TV, or you can download the Free Roku app for private listening. Hope this helps! Thank you, TCL Customer Support

Q: QuestionI have an Onkyo AVR with HDMI 1.4a & ARC. I was told to connect an "Amplified" HDMI Splitter powered by AC Adapter to the Xbox Series X. One HDMI sends Lossless 5.1 to the AVR. One HDMI sends HDR 4K video to the TV. Can you recommend an HDMI Splitter?
Asked by MichaelZ.
- A:Answer We do not recommend using Audio converters or adapters in between the TV and external sound device. Adding digital devices this way can and will most likely add an audio delay. We recommend using an eARC certified Sound bar or audio video receiver. The limitation is with the ARC HDMI bandwith of HDMI 1.4a in regards to lossless 5.1 audio. Hope this helps!
