Synopsis

The Fast and the Furious
A magazine article about real-life car racing gangs for Vibe becomes this fast-paced automotive thriller from director Rob Cohen. Paul Walker stars as Brian O'Conner, a youthful FBI agent investigating a series of hijackings by going undercover with a street gang led by charismatic Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel). Caught up in Toretto's world of gang conflict that is resolved in late-night car races, Spindler starts to sympathize with his chief suspect and falls in love with Toretto's younger sister Mia (Jordana Brewster). In the meantime, Spindler initially suspects the wrong gang of complicity in the crimes he's probing, while Toretto remains involved in a forbidden romance, à la Romeo and Juliet, with his girlfriend Letty (Michelle Rodriguez). The Fast and the Furious co-stars Ted Levine, Rick Yune, and Matt Schulze. ~ Karl Williams, Rovi

Movie is great. Only thing was that when I got the movie home and opened it, there was a large scratch on the reading side of the disc, along with fingerprints all over the disc, and it was still factory sealed when I received it. So I opened the other discs that I purchased at the same time, and the same issue on brand new, unopened, factory sealed discs bought from the local Fargo best buy. I was pretty angry. So I had to spend over an hour to drive back to best buy to return the discs for undamaged discs. I had the employee open the new replacement discs right there in the store, to make sure the same issues weren't present on other discs. We found more, factory sealed movies in the store that were also scratched when we opened them. Eventually we found 2 that were in great condition with no flaws. Only wish they would have offered some kind of perkor discount, for the time I wasted driving back and spending an additional hour of my time, on top of the original time I spent during my first trip to the store. But they didn't. Nice workers, very helpful. But being an elite plus member that has spent more than $8000 in the past 9 months ( from June 2016 to April 2017) ,I thought they would offer some discount or something. Even if I wasn't an elite member, for the time taken from my family and day to drive and return 2 faulty products, was unfortunate for me and my family. Wasting time. Considering I am in best buy on average, 2 to 3 times a week.

I remember seeing this movie back when it came out in 2001.enjoyed it ever since. just recently purchased the whole series on bluray minus furious 7 paul walker n vin diesel were not big stars back then - great back n forth between these characters---too bad vin diesel decided not to do 2fast2furious and Tokyo drift is like Halloween 3 in the Halloween horror series - or friday the 13th part 5- doesn't fit- thank goodness i never watched it well back to the original - great race scenes - if you watch it as much as I have - you see all the funny one liners in the movie - i could write some in here but a few contain bad words :D plus theres a scene when jordana Brewster pulls paul walker into a room- well she bumps her elbow on the dresser as she walks in and it is very funny and i do not think that was suppose to happen. R.I.P. paul walker thank you for the memories brian earl spillner - typical white boy name

The Fast and Furious series is one of the best I have ever seen. A general rule of thumb I have found with movies is the first will be good, the second worth watching and after that the series or franchise is clearly not well thought of beyond just how to make more money. Fast and Furious franchise is different (yes i understand the purpose of these movies is for the company and actors to make money) but what is different is that each chapter in the story line is well thought out, planned, and edited with excellent acting. Each one carefully plays into and off of the previous ones and the entire story flows with 1 solid story line that doesn't deviate or try and change anything before it. If you want to see how following movies in a series need to be done to make the entire series worth seeing and not just the first couple, then this franchise will show you how.

I've always been different, which is why this movie appealed to me. I didn't know much about the culture of street racing, but what I saw was something else. No one expected it to become a billion dollar franchise, but it did. The characters wound up being more complex than I imagined. Vin Diesel plays Dominic Toretto, an anti-hero who also has a strong code, one that emphasizes loyalty, family, and respect. He's still pretty rough around the edges, but he's the guy you want in your corner. Paul Walker (R.I.P.) is Brian O'Connor, someone who starts out as an outsider but gets into Dominic's good graces, except Brian is a cop who's investigating hijackings of semi-trucks. Dominic and his team are suspects. The more time Brian spends with Dominic and his team, the more gray he sees, and the more he questions what he should do. Not a great movie, but the rest of the franchise, it fits well enough.

If only Universal would make more of these steelbooks. It has been years now. You'll occasionally see them pop up again in stores, but they're usually only found online at this point. I personally love them because you get pretty much everything you'd want. The Digital HD code works on Vudu/Ultraviolet and you get the blu-ray and DVD copies of the film. They look great on the shelf, especially if you own a lot of them. One thing I will say is be careful moving with these. My copy of the Incredible Hulk (same packaging) got super scratched up in the box I put it in with other blu-rays. I ended up replacing it. They seem to scratch pretty easily if not handled with care.

I bought the entire "F & F" Steelbook collection for the holidays, and this is just one of the Steelbook jacket designs - I have two off the three available American, and this is the less "cartoonish" with the sleek pics of our hero's set in the middle. The Steelbook features all the bonus extras, but the digitally 1080P and 5.1. DTS-HD enhance the "full throttle" experience. As these are all "LIMITED EDITION STEELBOOK," if you want it, get it ASAP from Best Buy, before it's only available for major $$$ on eBay.

5 stars across the board and a huge 'thumbs up'.The cars in the movie had me wanting to buy a car like that and move to California. I still look at tricked out cars and think about this movie. The racing scenes were great and had me on the edge of my seat wanting more and more and more. As a woman, I really liked the fact they included a woman in the cast who had her own tricked out car and played her as touch cookie who could race. Also let me say that I am a huge Vin Diesel fan. I love that man & would happily marry him if he asked me to. Paul Walker is too cute and Michelle Rodriguez is just awesome. I'm glad that they are returning for the 4th installment of the 'Fast & Furious' franchise.

I'm actually just rating the packaging? Honestly, the movie's been out awhile, and you must know it's fun, the franchise as a whole is fantastic- diverse casts, fabulous locations, incredible action, ETC. What I'm rating here is the packaging, because if there's one thing we like in our household it's a good collectible Steelbook. This fits nicely with the rest of the films, not too gimmicky or busy design. If you've not purchased any Steelbooks, you're getting the same film with a great special edition packaging to stand out on the shelf. Also, well worth the extremely reasonable pricetag for a bluray film!
