Synopsis

The Hangover Part II
A modest bachelor brunch devolves into a wild weekend in Bangkok when the gang travels to Thailand to see Stu get married. Still traumatized by memories of the Las Vegas fiasco, Stu (Ed Helms) vows to keep his pre-wedding partying to the bare minimum. But when Phil (Bradley Cooper), Doug (Justin Bartha), and Alan (Zach Galifianakis) show up, Stu's low-key brunch makes their previous Vegas fiasco look like a family trip to Disneyland. The Hangover Part II features cameos by Bill Clinton and Paul Giamatti. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

They’re all back, they’re in Thailand, and they don’t remember a thing. Again. Ed Helms, Bradley Cooper, Zach Galifianakis and Justin Bartha all return in this sequel to the wildly successful 2009 comedy. This time it’s Stu (Helms) who is about to be married and his friends are in Thailand for the wedding with Alan (Galifianakis) being brought along out of pity. However, this time Stu is determined to avoid being drugged. Imagine his surprise when, once in Thailand, that is exactly what happens. And while a member of the party is, again, missing, this time it’s his future brother-in-law Teddy (Mason Lee) who is nowhere to be found. And upon inspection of their unfamiliar surroundings, they find his finger on the coffee table still bearing his class ring. I’ll admit that I, unlike most viewers, saw the first film and considered entertaining rather than hilarious. The second film is certainly lesser, at least as entertainment. In 2010, an action/comedy titled The Losers introduced the idea of ‘green terrorism’ by demonstrating a fictional explosive with all the destructive power of a nuclear bomb that created no radiation or fallout. The Hangover II is essentially a “green comedy”. Whatever esthetic differences there might be, it’s primarily recycled materials from the previous film.

    LAUGH-OUT-LOUD FUNNY!!!

What a great place to stage a movie! The fact that Stu is getting married, and says he is not having a bachelor party, opened the door for unpredictable fun, laughter, suspense, a wild-goose chase, and some really funny lines and things that happen. Not the same as the first movie, but has mostly the same cast and a realistic ending. My husband, adult kids and I loved this movie and laughed through it all. Action drama too. Alan is still a pain, but funny! The only thing I was upset about was the 2 hours it took to download the digital copy at ultraviolet. I fought with that, am not too happy about what I went through, but am so glad I bought the combo so that I can play it in my computer and have this movie for years to come. It is totally a keeper!! A must own!!! I thought this one was better than the first one, with funnier scenes and more reality as it took place in Thailand and Bangkok. The first movie was great too. We own them both and happy that we do!!

Sequels serve one of two purposes: to further the narrative or to pull a cash grab on the success of the predecessor. Unfortunately/Obviously, in this case it was the latter. The plot follows the same set up as before: a group of friends convenes for a night out before their good friend's wedding only to find that they've lost one of their own while under the influence. While there are a slew of new jokes and we're now set in Thailand as opposed to Las Vegas, the movie is a rehash of the first. No one truly grew as a character and the sad attempt to have Stu "grow" by tattooing his face and having a tryst with a transsexual is just going over the top for cheap laughs. Is it funny? At times, yes. Can you live your life without having seen it? Most definitely.

This movie is GREAT, but i like better the first part, but my complaint is the DIGITAL COPY, i buy the movies with digital copy to play them in my iTunes (iPod, iPad) etc... but this movie comes with the Ultraviolet garbage digital copy, that do not let you copy it to your computer, only stream it from their web.... DO NOT BUY THIS, They are trying to control the market by selling this!! HORRIBLE!! the same with the last Harry Potter!!! will not buy it thanks to that!! Great WB!!! Note: with the Harry Potter I wrote them an email complaining and they send me a code for iTunes, you could try if you already but this .......

I loved the first Hangover, but was skeptical regarding a sequel. However, after watching it, and laughing pretty much the whole time, i almost feel like this was better than the first. Certainly, they upped the disturbing humor quotient. The situations they find themselves in are pretty awesome. This time, they lose Stew's soon to be brother in law, a 16 year old child prodigy/Stanford student...and what they go through to find him...oh man! You may gag when they go to the strip club, and might feel bad for the little monkey, but really, this movie has it all... You know, i may just have to visit Bangkok...and hope the city doesn't take me.

I cant believe I was late to watch the 2nd part of the trilogy, let alone the 3rd, Why I was late to the hangover trilogy I do not know. I originally thought that it was going to be some slapstick film and grabbed all three of the hangover trilogy films in the $5 throw away bin. I couldn't have been more wrong than anything about a trilogy. From the hangover part 1 to the end of part 3 we were laughing to the end. These films were worth buying a long time ago! So if you haven't watched them yet, give them a shot! You won't be disappointed!

I really enjoyed the first movie and was looking forward to the sequel. I heard this movie was not as good as the first, but I thought I would give it a shot. After all, the same actors returned, how bad could it be, right? I will be short and sweet and to the point. This movie sucks!! Do not waste your money or time. It was so bad, I actually threw this movie into the trash after watching. I have never done that before as I am an avid movie lover and have a large movie collection. This one does not deserve to be in my collection.

"The Hangover 2" is like a repackaged gift - it's been given before but if you don't take life and cinema too seriously, it's a nice gift to make one laugh and never look at Thai women the same ever again. The blu-ray is awesome - the colors pop, the sound is acute. The special features are decent. The steel case is what makes this a treasure. These cases look and feel like art made with care. So worth $9.99 and not as bad as people say.
