I was skeptical about this after reading some reviews, but I decided to give it a try. I’m happy that I got it. Really enjoyed it, and the SteelBook looks beautiful. Gorgeous sets and costumes. This was a great deal for $6.99!
I saw a number of negative reviews on it and I was totally surprised to see how much I enjoyed it. It's very different from the classic Nutcracker story, but it's an interesting story nonetheless, accompanied by impressive visuals. In a nice touch, the movie also features a nice tribute to Walt Disney's Fantasia. I was also impressed when I heard so much of Tchaikovsky's music in the score.
I purchased this one cuz it was on sale and had a nice looking steelbook but to my surprise it end up being a really good movie. Moves pretty quick, but the story, the acting, the makeup and costume designs, all great. If you’re looking for a good, fun, family film pick this one up
Given the so-so reviews and lackluster box office (or so I recall) for this movie, I went in with lower expectations. The movie itself was a pleasant surprise, reminiscent in many ways of the original Chronicles of Narnia film with the character exploring a new realm after passing through a magic portal. It's not as good as that film, but definitely worth a watch if you enjoy this type of movie.
