Synopsis

Season 2 of the hit mockumentary opens with the hardly coveted Dundie Awards, the annual ceremony honoring Scranton employees in such esteemed categories as Hottest in the Office and Whitest Tennis Shoes. In a typical move, regional manager Michael Scott (Steve Carell) emcees the show and picks the winners-but doesn't pick up the tab. In other Michael developments, he spies on staffers' emails, mistakes an IT guy for a terrorist, burns his foot while cooking bacon bedside, and becomes a reluctant homeowner. He does manage to find some success in the dating department. He goes out with his likable real-estate agent Carol (played by Carell's wife Nancy Walls) and hooks up with his recently divorced no-nonsense boss Jan Levinson (Melora Hardin). The latter affair starts as a one-night stand but leads to a slightly warped (and somewhat imagined in Michael's eyes) love triangle between the three. In other office romances, Dwight Schrute (Rainn Wilson) and Angela Martin (Angela Kinsey) start a top-secret love affair, Kelly Kapoor (Mindy Kaling) crushes on Ryan Howard (B.J. Novak), and Jim Halpert (John Krasinski) continues dating Katy (Amy Adams), the "hot girl" he met in the Season 1 finale. But it's Pam Beesly (Jenna Fischer) whom he not-so-secretly pines for, even though she's engaged (for three years and counting) to insensitive warehouse worker Roy (David Denman). Much to Jim's dismay, Roy finds a moment of drunken clarity on Michael's ill-fated booze cruise and finally sets a date for his and Pam's wedding. Pam's thrilled at first, but then she starts thinking beyond the reception desk when a Women in the Workplace seminar inspires her to attend art school. Jim wholeheartedly encourages the idea, which is quickly shot down by Roy, planting seeds of doubt in Pam's mind about whether Roy is really the right guy for her. ~ Karen Andzejewicz

This season has the hilarious "Dundies" Episode, where Michael Scott decides to give out awards to boost morale around the office. Apparently it is an annual award ceremony. The awards range from the "Don't Go In There After Me" award, in which Kevin once stunk up the bathroom and Michael walked in there after him, and the "Bushiest Beaver" award. Hilarious. There is also commentary for this show which has a few of the actors and writers. The commentary could be its own show! Also, "Dwight's Speech" is on this season, in which Dwight has to give a speech because he was awarded with Salesman of the Year. Dwight has a problem speaking in public, so Jim decides to give him so timeless advice from such public speakers as Adolf Hitler and Mussolini...classic. Definitely worth the purchase!

For those of you who aren't into reality shows or comedies because of their rehearsed or overdone qualities, The Office is an honest, raw blend of both worlds. The Office is a comedy directed "reality show" style, complete with talking heads, cliffhangers, and moments and quotes that stand alone and last forever. This is a must have for any DVD collector. If you're already a fan or you're just experiencing the Office for the first time, this box set is the place to start. The DVD extras are incredible and abundant - special features on every disc - but will still leave you wanting more! The deleted scenes are like episodes in themselves. I must have watched this season 5 times through already and am anxiously awaiting my purchase of Season 3.

Best season of the Office by far!

This is far and away the best season of an already incredible show! The first season set the bar pretty high, getting better with every episode after the pilot, but Season Two starts with a bang and keeps building until the amazing last episode. This season also has the best commentaries (Seasons 1 & 3 didn't seem to have as many, season 3 especially is lacking in commentaries.) But Season 2 has loads of commentaries, usually with the people we want to hear from most, the main characters along with some behind the scenes insight from writers and directors.

Out of the first 3 seasons on dvd, and the last season on TV (therefore of the first 4 seasons), this one is the funniest. The characters are hilarious and loveable, and all of them remind you of somebody you know. If you like office space, you will also enjoy this season as the antics that occur here bring back fond (and not so fond) memories of my office. For those who have not seen the show, everyone I show this dvd set to loves it when they are done, so definitely check it out.

There was a time when I would skim through the channels looking for something to watch but I never took the time to stop and watch this show. I actually thought it was another reality show until my son made me watch it. I have been hooked every since. The Office has some of the sickest, dry humor going right now. I have every season except for season 1 and season 6.

    The Best Show Ever

The Office is hilarious. Steve Carell as Michael Scott is so outrageous and not afraid to say anything. Rainn Wilson as Dwight Schrute is the best and he needs to win the Emmy for his performance. Season 2 is probably the best season since it is before all of the extra characters were entered. I think The Office is the best show ever, even better than my other favorite Seinfeld.

The Office is my favorite TV show and I watch it all the time on NBC. This set includes 22 hilarious episodes from season 2. This is probably the best season of The Office with some of the best episodes. I really liked the episode with the fire and the Christmas episode. I would recommend this show to anyone who is looking for a good laugh.
