I'm sure you have heard the song "Epic". It was huge in the late 80's for thier use of rapped words over heavy music. This disc would be the foundation block for nu-metal, mid-90's post grunge and many more styles of music. This is the first offering from FNM with new singer Mike Patton, from Mr. Bungle. FNM had two previous discs that were good, but nothing like this. They had 3 singles from this album, "from out of nowhere", "Epic", and "Falling to pieces". It also contains on of the best instrumetals in music, "Woodpecker from Mars", and a killer version of Black Sabbath's "War Pigs". This album contains everything that embodies what was FNM: heavy and melodic riffs, thundering rhythm section; of which I am a constant student, and amazingly delivered vocals. This album should be the stepping stone into what is and was FNM. P.S.--also check out FNM's Angel Dust a wonderfully dark album.
