A: It's terrible. I'd get any other computer except this. The wifi will not stay connected. Read the reviews, everyone seems to be having this problem. AND, others with the same wifi and windows 8.1 are also. If you don't want to use the wifi and are good with an Ethernet connection it might be ok, but the performance was bad, lagged, and disk usage was 100% sometimes for no reason... So, you're asking for trouble. A way to fix it is probably replacing the wifi adapther... but why do that on a new computer?
A: People expect an awful lot for such an inexpensive machine I believe these people are too picky.

A: This laptop has a battery life rating of up to 4 hours and 15 minutes.
A: Because the wifi adapter is terrible and possibly incompatible with Win 8.1. I'd took my computer back because it would never stay connected and when it was it was slow. My HP of comparable cost gets 20MBps while I was also only getting around 8 (when connected). You need to replace the wifi adapter if you keep the computer.
