Keeps an eye on my property!
Posted .What's going on? ¿Qué pasa? TP-Link’s Smart Security Camera answers that question for me. The KC200 camera keeps an eye on my property and notifies me on my smartphone whenever it spots potential trouble. I evaluated a free demo unit supplied by TP-Link for testing, review, and feedback. A 16+ minute comprehensive unboxing, review, teardown disassembly, and setup tutorial is on YouTube. Google: KC200 "Ron Z". TP-Link’s Kasa Cam KC200 is a value leader with the best performance to price ratio.

Works well! Some limitations, though...
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. The camera was easy to set up. It provides a good picture, and night mode is decent. The drawback is like many cameras like this; TP-Link seems to want you to buy their cloud based storage, and there really is no way to check the video, except on your phone with the KASA app, or it will cast to an Android product, such as an nVidia Shield. The sensitivity leaves a bit to be desired, and no matter how it's adjusted, it sets off your phone notifications quite a lot. I wish there was a way to store video on my NAS, rather than opt for cloud ($$) storage. I'd also like to stream to my PC or Mac, if desired.

Affordable outdoor camera
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed.Works great. Image quality is very sharp in daytime and at night. Notifications, sensitivity, active zones, schedule and more can all be customized in the app. No subscription required (at least for the first two years). Videos are kept on the Kasa cloud, but can also be downloaded by using the Kasa app. The Kasa app is well designed, organized, easy to use and shows all your Kasa products in one place. The live feed is available in real time, even while recording. Stays connected to my WiFi network without issues. Goggle Assistant integration allows me to use voice commands to cast the camera onto my Nest Hubs and Chromecasts/Google TVs, which is nice. IFTTT integration available for power users. Flexible mounting options. Magnetic camera mount for easy adjustments. Power cord may be too short for some, depending on where you mount it, though an official Kasa extension cable is available to purchase. No batteries needed (a plus for some, a con for others). I haven't tried any "security" related features, like two-way audo or sirens.

I love this camera
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed.I set it up in my chicken coop to spy on my birds while I was away for the weekend. It was unbelievably easy to connect to my home network and mounts easily with a couple screws. The app is also easy to use. The camera rests in a super strong magnet on the mount, so you can aim it in different directions after installation. It survived the epic heat wave that passed through the mid-Atlantic last week, and when the free trial subscription runs out, it just cuts you back to storing 2 days of footage instead of 30, still free. I got it on sale for $80, but I'd say it's worth full price. I liked it so much I bought a second one to monitor my yard. This little camera is a great purchase and gives me peace of mind that my birds are safe when I am away.

Great outdoor camera
||Posted .This camera was so easy to install. It literally took less than 30 mins to unbox, power up and mount. The picture and sound quality are great and price point was good. The corresponding TP Link Kasa App is great. Super easy to install and program. I enjoy having the ability to view my home from the palm of my hand. I'm completely satisfied with my purchase.

Good but not great.
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed.I have other Tp-link Kasa products so it is a good fit for the ecosystem. Easy to setup and the magnetic mount is strong. As long as you mount near an outlet, or run an extension cord, it can practically be anywhere. Only issue is that sometimes it loses connection to WiFi and goes into a green blinking mode until you bring it near a router to establish a strong connection and reset the router too. Settings can be too sensitive sometimes. Can insert a microsd card to store local clips and can be reviewed in the app.

Great Camera, good quality
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.I have several Kasa cameras, this one impresses me! It solidly made and hefty. I can"t say the siren or speaker is very loud, but I'm suppose to wear hearing aides...lol. The microphone picks up sound very well. Wish Kasa had an OUTDOOR Pan and Tilt! This has one downfall in that it suffers from a lighting problem. I placed one above my back door looking down the length of my porch to the stairs. During the day the sunlight at the end of the porch (back-lighting) washes out facial detail (silhouettes) in front of the door; wish it had a feature to adjust that. The other outdoor camera is mounted on my outbuilding aimed at the porch and during the day the yard area is bright and clear, but anyone on the porch is in a dark shadow. There is not any means to adjust brightness or contrast!

EXCELLENT SECURITY CAMERA
||Posted .I have purchased 5 of these cameras, replacing Arlo cameras. I only purchase the outdoor version for use indoor and outdoor.Much cheaper than Arlo but works as good, if not better, than those. Software App is much better than Arlo's and has free cloud storage for 48 hours, which is more than enough time to save any video clips to your own cloud and/or PC that you want to keep.

Q: QuestionWhat is the power source for this camera?
Asked by huapea.
- A:Answer The camera comes with a cable attached to it that has a USB male end on it for power that plugs into a 110v USB wall adapter that comes with it (just like cell phones use). So you do need a 110v house power source near by. For my outdoor installations I plugged several extension cords into one electrical outlet in the attic, ran each cord to the location of the camera outside, drilled a hole near each camera and ran the camera's USB type cord into the attic to the extension cord.
