Prolific director Bryan Singer takes a turn towards horror as the producer of this Halloween shocker directed by X2 and Superman Returns screenwriter Mike Dougherty. With four interwoven tales concerning a high-school principal who moonlights as a vicious serial killer, a college-age virgin who's saving herself for that special someone, a woman whose hatred of Halloween is only exceeded by her husband's love of the mischievous holiday, and a callous group of teens who carry out an unforgivably cruel prank, this fall frightener mixes Tarantino-style storytelling with the kind of chills that can only occur on the darkest day of the year. Brian Cox, Anna Paquin, Dylan Baker, and Leslie Bibb all star in a Halloween treat that's sure to deliver a few nasty tricks.

A little disjointed as the movie plays with time a little but has a pretty good take on action vs. consequences as well as comeuppances. To quote: "There's always a bigger fish"~Qui-Gon Jinn. ;)
Not a lot of CGI, which is nice as practical effects still have their place. A splash of cussing and boobs, a nod to slasher/horror films of the 80s and early 90s.
An interesting take on lycanthropy and shapeshifting. Also, I believe this was just before Anna Paquin started her role as Sookie Stackhouse in "True Blood"; as such, it's nice to see a bridge between Rogue from "X-Men I, II" and "True Blood".
The timeline jumps around a little bit between present, past, future, etc. but if you look closely, characters between the four main storylines can be seen in the background in some shots, giving the stories a nice touch of continuity.
Honestly, I'd recommend. I'd like to have seen more backstory of "Sam" (or more stories featuring) as it was the only character that the movie didn't really flesh (pun intended) out. That said, when it does have screen time, it's eerily creepy.
A decent anthology with a good variety of small stories that do intertwine in some interesting ways. There is some content here that may turn certain people off however. Kids being among the victims.
Now if you are like me and can tell the difference between movies and reality then you shouldn't have any problem with this. I think this is just good classic Halloween fun.
If you’re into Halloween movies, this is a must see. The visuals and the audio are excellent. You’ll be sitting at the edge of your seat because you don’t know what will happen next. Not recommended for the younger viewers. Some adults although might be scared also watching this, I was.

This Halloween movie was actually good. Unworldly creatures hold a small town in their grasp on Halloween Night. Starring Dylan Baker
Brian Cox, Anna Paquin. 2009 movie. Do not recommend for anyone under the age of 13.
