SynopsisExperience an intense, story-driven, first-person shooter in Turok. Travel to a dark, mysterious planet in the future and take on the role of Joseph Turok, a former black ops commando and current member of an elite special forces squad known as Whiskey Company. The squad seeks to take down war criminal Roland Kane, Turok's former mentor and leader of a group of lethal soldiers. While Turok and his men scour the planet for Kane, Whiskey Company's ship is shot down, leaving the crew stranded after the crash. Now Turok must use his elite military training to evade Kane's deadly army, the Mendel-Gruman. There are also genetically altered dinosaurs, huge insects and other ravenous creatures that populate the alien environment. In order to complete the mission, survival must be Turok's top priority.Witness the deep plot unfold through dramatic cut scenes and cinematic flashbacks. Strategy is the key to success in combat — decide whether excessive firepower or stealth kill techniques are more appropriate for each enemy. Artificial Intelligence makes both human and nonhuman foes react dynamically to your movements in gripping fight sequences. Defend yourself with the clever Dino Luring technique to make the unpredictable dinosaurs attack human enemies or other creatures. Take the action online in chaotic 16-player battles that include additional creatures not found in the offline mode.

Good for its time. Not so good for 2013 lol. It's still pretty fun for one play through.

THOUGHTS:
This is a reboot of a classic game/comic franchise, and some will enjoy it, and others wont. However, if you're able to take off your nostalgia goggles, you'll find an enjoyable gameplay experience with a basic, but solid story and great voicework.
GOOD:
- Solid FPS action
- Stellar action movie-inspired sci-fi story
- Strong voice acting from the likes of Ron Pearlman and Powers Boothe
- Versatile gameplay allowing for stealth or assault approaches
- Solid visuals
- amazingly realistic dinosaur animations
BAD:
- questionable enemy AI
- Constantly get knocked down during major firefights
- Can have major difficulty spikes

Put a Fork in My Eye!!!

This game is pathetic. The designers programmed it to force you to replay battle sequences multiple times, regardless if you kicked butt! Case in point, one battle scenario I killed all the enemies and dinosaurs, but when I killed the last enemy (who was on his knees trying to stand and not even shooting at me) I died and had to start the level over. There was nobody around to shoot me!!!! The game goes on and on like this. They purposely designed the game to make you repeat battles over and over again to force you to look at there not so pretty graphics, or to feel like you accomplished something. How lame is that??? Oh, and let's not forget the lame aiming controls...that seem to wander on their own!!! If you ever play this game, look at the size of the guys holding these puny weapons. Do they look like guys that don't have the arm strength to hold a gun steady????? Geeez! Oh, and you cannot save at anypoint in the game.....just like mentioned above....you have to start the entire level over again!! Anybody that finished this game should be given sainthood for patience and determination...no matter how many hours of their life they wasted (like so many hours I wasted just to get through this horribly designed game...Hey, got that fork ready??). What happened to the old Turok from the Nintendo 64 days...where a true native american warrior ruled so competently????
This game blows!! Ok, put the fork riiiight here.....
