Excellent PC Headset with a few minor issues.
Posted .First off, this is a really high quality feeling and looking headset. Very sturdy build quality and comfortable ear cups. On the flip side of that, this is a really heavy headset and pretty bulky. I'm not sure if it's the heaviest I've ever used, but it's at least one of the heaviest. This can be an issue with long periods of constant use. The Turtle Beach Control studio gives you a slew of options and features for this headset on your PC. You can pretty much configure everything from mic monitoring to what they call "Superhuman Hearing." There is so much customization here that I can't imagine needing anything else to optimize the sound to your liking. Sound quality is really great. Details in games comes through great and positional sounds are easy to track. Great gaming headset. For other stuff while on PC like music or movies, these are also great. I noticed no latency issues with watching videos. Sound of the mic is also good, but there is some noticeable sibilance if you have the mic very close to your mouth. I suggest keeping it a decent distance from your mouth when using it. Overall, a really nice wireless headset. One down side, which I didn't take off for in the score, is these don't work well with PS4 wirelessly. To be fair, these aren't advertised as a wireless headset for PS4. They will kind of work wireless on PS4, but you have no control over the sound other than from the PS4 menu. The sound is low no matter what you do, so wireless these aren't a good option. They do come with a 3.5mm cable with in-line mic to use on PS4 or other devices that have a 3.5mm jack. It would have been nice if these had worked wireless with PS4, as other wireless PC headsets have this option. Maybe in a future firmware upgrade or something. Anyway, I recommend these for a quality PC headset.

Comfortable with great sound
|Posted .Owned for 4 months when reviewed.Features
Quality3 out of 5Value4 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5The Elite Atlas Aero is an incredibly comfortable set of headphones. They even have special adjustable comfort zones on the ear pads to accommodate glasses. The sound is great. Rich and detailed. It allowed me to hear things in games that I had overlooked before. My primary use is for work meeting and the microphone is great for that. The mic monitoring feature is great and I love that it has physical wheels and buttons for the volume, mic monitor level and mute. Battery life is also great. I am on 3 to 4 hours of meetings every day and I can go a full week without needing to charge them. I only have one minor nit to pick and one other issue I'm not really sure about. Nit: these are not bluetooth headphones, they come with a USB dongle (very tiny) for PC connection (along with an actual cord). Because of this, the wireless connection is not as fast to establish when compared to my bluetooth headphones. I only mention this because I have been caught on a Skype meeting still trying to connect while the other person is already talking. To level set, we are talking a connection delay of maybe 5 - 7 seconds versus 1 to 2 seconds for bluetooth. Not really a big deal, you just have to be aware of it. Issue: I got these in May and have been using them daily ever since. A couple of weeks back I heard a little snap on the right side when I was putting them on. I didn't really think anything of it, but when I took them off there was a small rattle, like a tiny rock was inside. Today I just noticed there is a crack on the right side where the headband swivel is bolted into the earpiece part (see picture). I have contacted turtle beach support and am waiting to hear back, but this is the only thing keeping this from a 5 star product.

Great headset, but the
Posted .O.K, being brutally honest here. I've had nothing but issues with the Turtle Beach developed Control Studio with Waves program on my computer that I use these headphones on. Due to this, this review will be much shorter than my normal ones. Basically, it doesn't work. Instead, I'm forced to use Windows Sonic in the meantime. Installing the Control Studio generates an error with the Waves driver. I've contacted Turtle Beach about this and they acknowledged the issue and had me, on two separate occasions, grab some files and send to them. They did give very specific step-by step instructions for doing so, which made it easy. However, the last I heard, I had received an e-mail requesting me to call them and remote in so they could manually and fully remove all of the old Wave drivers and Control Center application. Then I received another e-mail shortly after that stating to disregard, as they are working out further issue. It's been a mess, really. So, why am I giving these 5 stars, then? Well, they are wireless and they are super comfortable to wear. I love the design and how light-weight they are. Volume is fantastic as well! Additionally, my contacts with the Tech Support team have all been very personable and NOT off-shored. I feel once they get this kink worked out, these headphones will be amazing, by any indication of my use of them using Windows Sonic. So, I'm going to continue being patient and hope they get this issue sorted sooner than later, so I can get the full bang from these cans. I've had previous Turtle Beach headphones and I love them. I use primarily Turtle Beach and Astro and neither have disappointed me.

Best quality/value headset on the market!!
|Posted .Owned for 1 week when reviewed.Features
Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5Amazing headset!! This device has all the features you need as a console gamer. It does have an app that is mediocre and really only valuable for pc gamers. The app does not allow for mic sensitivity toggling (to eliminate background noise) which I found very disappointing because I have a son who is usually in the background and the mic will occasionally pick up the noise but most of the time it will block it. The mute button is huge and super easy to find while playing. The headset comes with a 3.5mm cable which includes an inline mic and volume control buttons! The headset has 50mm speakers which don’t get super loud but produce amazing quality sound and the super-hearing features! The device folds up like you wouldn’t believe, when you open the package your like surprised by how small they can get, making it super easy to throw in a laptop bag, plus it has a storage slot fit the usb transmitter (many others do not have this). It also fits snug to your head so it won’t fall off no matter how you move... but its also isn’t so tight it gives me a headache after playing for a few hours. If you’re a pc gamer, it has the super-hearing features and after trying 5 or 6 different headsets, this was the ONLY ONE that met all my (super-picky) needs. The price is reasonable too! I liked this headset better than the 250.00+ dollar devices I tried! If you don’t want to waste time trying devices and returning them, just start with this masterpiece! I wish the guys at Best Buy knew how great this product is, it would have saved me a lot of trouble! The only thing that gave me issues is the variable mic monitoring which lets you hear and adjust the volume inside the headset, it allows you to remap buttons and if you accidentally press it, your volume will not work until you reset it. The perk is not worth the annoyance of accidentally hitting the remap button. Oh and it has a 30 hour battery life which was better than almost every other headset I tried! You gotta get this device if you’re in need.

Some very good features, but average build quality
Posted .Turtle Beach - Elite Atlas Aero Wireless Stereo Gaming Headset for PC with Waves Nx 3D Audio - Black/Silver The Turtle Beach - Elite Atlas Aero Wireless Stereo Gaming Headset has some things I like very much but it misses the mark on some of the things that might make it a top choice. First off the presentation during the unboxing is done very well. Included in the box is just about everything you need for both use as a PC gaming headset and a mobile headset. You get a USB wireless adapter which can be placed under the right ear pad for storage. All wireless headsets should have something like this, especially since this can be a mobile headset. The fact that the earpad can be removed so easy might suggest you could get replacements. It comes with very nicely padded pleather that is comfortable. Another interesting feature when you remove the ear pads there is a rubber adjustment that you pull out and it creates a space in the earpad for your glasses. Again a very unique feature and its actually works very well. My only complaint is how to use it in the very short setup instructions isn’t clear but it does work and I don’t recall seeing a feature like this before. All of the controls on the headset itself can be found on the left earphone. They are very easy to access and feel and work just fine. The ability to increase the mic volume so you can hear your voice is not something I use much but it does work exactly as claimed. The power button is easy to feel along with a button for what Turtle Beach calls there Superhuman feature. You will also find a Mic monitoring adjustment that along with the Super Hearing buttons can be remapped. Although I didn’t feel the need to change them. But thats is another nice options for those that do. You will also find a USB charging port and AUX connection. I do wish the charging port was a USB type C in place of a micro USB since its a better connector but I can overlook that. Finally you have a removable mic. The mic mute is on the ear pad. Probably a good enough location one you get used to it. It does make for a busy right ear piece but all of the controls are easy to find and use. The software utility or as Turtle Beach calls it is the Control Station must be downloaded and it one of the most complete headphone utilities I have ever seen. I could spend this whole review just talking about all of the options you have. You can set the Mic monitoring volume or turn it off completely. The mic works very well according to my online friends and in fact I was told my voice was more natural then my other gaming headsets. This is always a plus for any gaming headset. There are pre-set sound, options and full control of the Superhuman hearing feature. Turtle Beach has also incorporated Waves NX 3D Audio. Any 3D audio can be hard to explain and your results may vary. But the Waves NX 3D audio is found in some very high end gaming headsets and is considered one of the best attempts to bring back 3D audio to PC gaming. I played PUBG and the new Boarderlands 3 and it was in PUBG that it did seem to help the most. That is if I could have lasted long enough. In the software you will also find a ten band equalizer that can be set to be unique for the Game EQ, Chat EQ and Microphone EQ. There is where you will also find the available options for assigning macros. As I said before there is a load of configuration options in the Control Studio software. Another interesting feature I found was when I listened to the headphone on my mobile phone with the AUX connection I was able to turn the power on or off and it didn’t affect the sound. Thats was a surprise since in most cases its either or on a wireless headset if it will play back with the power off. Again a very nice feature if you do use this as a mobile headset. So with all of this my only complaint is the build quality. It is not bad but it is not great either. The headset doesn’t feel cheap but it doesn’t feel have the feel that all of the feature here deserve. It uses a single spring band over your head and this is a very common design but a bit more padding would have been nice. Also the height adjustment doesn’t inspire confidence it will hold up. It didn’t cause me any problems it just didn’t have that solid feel it should. And the material used for the earphones doesn’t match up the the feature set or the nice padding. Finally, at least for me they are a bit tight on the head. I could never wear them for the claimed 30 hours battery life. It could be my head which is usually quite average in size for most headsets. I also was not very impressed with the range of the wireless signal compared to other wireless headsets I have used and reviewed. Not an issue at the desk but for those quick breaks I did lose the signal that came right back as I got closer to the receiver. Also I found myself setting the sound on its maximum setting with both my PC gaming and pretty close to that on my mobile phone. That can be a good thing for your hearing but it is always nice to have more and turn it down then to have to max it out. If the build quality was up to the feature set this headset would be a sure winner. You do get a lot of value here and I have been stretching it a bit to reduce the clamping pressure. So far that hasn’t made much of a difference but it is not to bad just a tad too much. I have never had a Turtle Beach headphone before and I am impressed with most of what you get. I would suggest if your looking for a wireless PC gaming headset you should take a look as it does have a lot of offer.

Great sound, but...
|Posted .Owned for 2 months when reviewed.Features
Quality2 out of 5Value3 out of 5Ease of Use2 out of 5Excellent sound and voice. Surround sound works as well as can be expected using a single speaker, and it's a real advantage when playing shooters against human opponents online. Comfortable even when wearing for all day sessions. Unfortunately within 90 days the headband broke where the headband connects to the earcup arm and pivtots. Turtle Beach did replace it, however it took 15 days, which is at the least, disappointing. May want to actually get Bestbuy's replacement warranty if you buy this. The other issue is with the software. After receiving the new headset, the software (Turtle Beach Conrol Studo) exists in a perpetual download/install loop and will not launch, making it difficult to properly set up all the features of the headset. Emails to Turtle Beach Support has been acknowledged, but not even an attempt at a solution has been offered. Haven't heard back from them in almost 2 weeks. Terrible technical support and, while the build quality seems solid, questionable longevity really mars what is an excellent performing headset.

Great sounding wireless headphones
Posted .These are my first gaming headphones. I like the construction and how compact it is when stored away. They fit my large head perfectly. I was able to watch a 2 hour movie and played DOTA 2 for a couple of hours without feeling fatigue. They felt fairly comfortable but it would probably feel a little fatiguing to wear for much longer than a few hours. This might be because I’m not really used to wearing headphones. The installation was very easy. I plugged in the tiny wireless adapter into my computer’s USB port and plugged in a USB charging cable to charge the headphones. The initial charging took about 30 minutes and it’s supposed to last 30 hours per charge. I’ve been using these headphones for a few days (at a couple of hours each day) without needing to recharge so battery life does seem excellent. There was a piece of paper with instructions that provided a link to download and install the Turtle Beach Control Studio application that can be used to customize the sound. When starting up, the application stated that it couldn’t find any drivers so it proceeded to download them and everything seems to work perfectly after that. The microphone attached easily (but make sure it is oriented correctly or it won’t plug in) and I like the flexibility of being able to adjust the position of the microphone. On the left ear piece there are two volume adjustments (one for chat and the other for the master volume), the power button, the mic input, a mic mute button, a wired audio input for connecting to a game system or other audio device, and a remappable macro button that can be used to activate Superhuman hearing. The headphones quickly connected after pressing the power button. The connection seemed solid and I never experienced any drop-outs. I played around with the volume, 3D Audio, Game Spatializer and Superhuman Hearing settings. The sound quality was fantastic. Music and movies sounded great on the headphones with crisp clear dialog and good bass. At first I was disappointed with sound from watching movies, but then I realize that I had to set Power DVD to use TrueTheatre Surround Sound instead of the Stereo Headphones and then the sound stage opened up and became more immersive. Games such as DOTA 2 sounds great with crisp vocals and effects. I don’t really play much FPS games since I get a little nauseous from them so I didn’t really get a chance to see how effective something like Superhuman hearing would be. From activating it, it just seems to make things sound louder with an emphasis on certain frequencies like vocals. I was not able to use chat in a game but I did make an audio recording using the microphone and I thought my voice sounded very clear. I usually don’t like the sound of my voice but I thought I actually sounded good in the recording. The Turtle Beach Elite Atlas Aero seems to only be usable wirelessly from a Windows 10 PC. You can use it on an Xbox One (or other game systems) using the wired connection. I’m hoping that Turtle Beach can update it so it can be used wirelessly from an Xbox One because these would make great headphones to wear while watching a movie late at night without worrying about disturbing your family. Overall, I would recommend these headphones. They are comfortable and provide great sound for music, movies and games.

Q: QuestionCan this headset be used wirelessly on console or does it have to be wired for console use?
Asked by PS4Gamer.
- A:Answer Wired for consoles, yet wired/wireless with PC.
Answered by Rick
Q: QuestionIs this also compatible with the Xbox one consoles?
Asked by GrosserXing.
- A:Answer To a certain extent. You will loose all features such as the superhuman hearing and the 3D waves audio simply due to the fact it’s not meant for the console. You can still use this headset via the included cable, but for the price you can get a decent headset meant for the Xbox.

Asked by TLN.
- A:Answer The Elite Atlas Aero is a headset that is designed for PC use alongside its Control Studio software. While it can be used on a Switch console, the headset would have limited functionality in regard to its feature set. Also, the headset would not offer any sort of wireless compatibility with an iPad.

Q: QuestionWhats up with the lack of reviews on this, is this a new product? Are the ear cups leather? Is the mic attached or apart of the headset?
Asked by Tino.
- A:Answer The lack of review might be due to it being a very new product. It can be found on the Turtle Beach website. The ear cups are a very soft pleather. You are not likely to see full leather ear cups at this price range or even higher. The mic is removable and the mute button is on the left headphone. The mic works very well.
