The saying "the more things change, the more they remain the same" could sum up Season 4 of Two and a Half Men. Charlie (Charlie Sheen), who decided to not marry Mia (Emmanuelle Vaugier) at the end of the third season, reverts to his old ways, and Alan (Jon Cryer) finds love and marriage again, this time with the ditsy Kandi (April Bowlby), only to be divorced and chewed up in the aftermath... again. Romance looks brighter for Judith (Marin Hinkle), as she and Herb (Ryan Stiles) decide to get married. Well, at least Judith decides. Herb needs some convincing, and Charlie and Alan are there to push him into taking the leap, knowing it will end alimony payments for Alan. It doesn't take long, though, for the men to give love another try, as they conduct secret affairs that come to light-Alan with Berta's pregnant daughter Naomi (Sara Rue), and Charlie with Herb's sister Myra (Judy Greer), with whom he bonds after learning neither can stand Judith. Charlie also tries to fix Alan up with their beautiful new neighbor (Brooke Shields), who is scarily like Alan. An even more eerie similarity is the one between one of Charlie's girlfriends and his mom, something that everyone can see except Charlie. But he's often blind until it's too late, especially when Rose (Melanie Lynskey) makes a major announcement, and Charlie realizes he has taken her for granted. Meanwhile, Jake is growing up, as evidenced when he replaces his Harry Potter posters with pictures of girls. The season of romantic twists ends with Evelyn (Holland Taylor) introducing the brothers to her new boyfriend, Teddy (played by Robert Wagner), and, to their surprise, they finally like one of their mom's lovers. Other notable guests include Steven Tyler, Enrique Iglesias, and Allison Janney. ~ Bill Ecklund
