A: yes in your carry on not in luggage cargo
A: if you have left it charging for more then 8hrs, I would suggest you to take it back and see what geek squat tells you after seen in it. It may be damage.

A: You will know when all 4 bars are solid blue.
Q: How do I know when it's on?
A: Double press on the power button, the blue led lights will come on, which also indicates how full the charge is. 4 led on means full charge, and 1 led on means low charge.
A: I never have to manually turn mine off as it usually does so by itself once the peripherals are disconnected.
