    Synopsis

Van Morrison: Live at Montreux 1980 and 1974
Witness the musical evolution of a true innovator whose success has spanned generations as iconic singer/songwriter Van Morrison presents his first-ever home video release by offering two unforgettable live performances from the Montreux Music Festival. The first performance, captured as Van Morrison takes the stage on June 30, 1974, features a ten-song set that includes such timeless tunes as "Foggy Mountain Hop", "Boffyflow & Spike", and "Harmonica Boogie". Six years and five albums later, Van Morrison would return to the Montreux stage to offer an impressive fifteen song set that showcased his growing maturity as an artist by offering such songs as "Troubadours", "Joyous Sound", "Summertime in England", and "Tupelo Honey". ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

      Must Have Van Morrison Concert

Not only is this a 1980 concert of Van Morrison, it also includes a 1974 concert! These are in between Vans most transendic musical years. People that know his music know what I am talking about. Fans of Van’s live concerts (I’ve seen him 4 times) wait for those moments when he disappears into the song, the music, the voice, and of course - the words. He reaches these moments several times in both these concerts. Ballerina 7 minutes long, Listen to the Lion, 7 minutes, Spirit (NEVER LET SPIRIT DIE!) 9 minutes, Summertime in England, 10 minutes. Look at the play list! The sound quality is excellent, I prefer DTS but they are also 5.1. It is mixed right. You can play it loud or soft. The band gets to do a lot of solos, but this is a Van Morrison tour de force for that time period. This was not thrown together. These were inside concerts, well lit, well filmed, and obviously well miked. I am so glad someone found this, who do I thank at Eagle Vision? I can’t believe the price either!
