**MUST READ BEFORE PURCHASE!!**
I purchased this remote as a replacement remote for my viper system. These remotes are extremely flawed. The manufacture defect is with the metal contact for the battery. This contact is very flimsy and over a short period of time, begins to bend in the wrong direction. This causes the battery to lose contact with the circuit board. This is why at times, the remote will make a short jingle noise indicating a low battery. This is my second remote and both, after just 3 months, have started doing this jingle. Eventually, the remote will become extremely challenging to even get it to work as it loses contact with the power source. I placed a beed of solder under the contact for support, that only lasted about a month or 2. My advice, Definantly purchase the replacement warranty!!! You will need it, unless you are okay with buying this remote every year. The first remote I purchased, didn't even last a full year before completely giving out. The manufacturer nor Best Buy would do anything to help. I had to purchase a new one at full price, WITH the replacement warranty this time.

Wrong model
I purchased this because the sale clerk said it was the correct replacement remote for my truck. Unfortunately, the sales clerk was wrong and it doesn’t sync with my current viper alarm. I will be returning this item. I will say that when you get the correct remote it works great.
