Awesome tv for the price.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great tv for the price. Picture is great. Haven't had it professionally calibrated but I like the colors I see. Adjusted the set to suit my taste. Amazing blacks. Natural flesh tones and pretty good contrast. One flaw I noticed is on a white screen there is kind of a grayish blotch on the lower portion of the screen. Not sure what this is about. Not a deal breaker for me. Also some blooming during dark scenes when viewing a movie with the lights off. Still great tv with great color and excellent handling of fast moving scenes. Vizio apps are a plus. Netflix and Amazon work without hitch.

Almost perfect
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV has better specifications than the leading brands (like Samsung) and a very good image. The one thing that they ought to fix is the internet connection. This TV constantly drops the connection on Netflix. I used to have the same problem when I connected with my PS3 a few years ago, but eventually they fixed. I hope Vizio will fix it too. Also, I use Hulu and the interface with Hulu is very simplistic. The good thing for me is that I don't connect the TV to the internet, for my game console does that very well. But if one day I need this feature I know it won't deliver.

Great for the price - Bad motion smoothness
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this TV on Black Friday for $500. For the price, it's great. The picture quality is phenomenal on just about anything you watch, especially Blu ray movies. The colors are good when viewing straight on. Once you start looking at the TV from an angle, the blacks start to appear grayish and a washed out look starts to appear. It is still tolerable though. The reds could be more red also (the Netflix start-up is easiest to see this). The active LED zones give tremendous blacks and helps quite a bit in dark scenes. The P series has twice as many zones which would be nice, but 32 for the M series is amazing. I've read comments on here about slow start up times. I've been using mine for over a month now and it takes under 45 seconds to turn on from cold and start watching Netflix in 1080p (It starts loading Netflix in under 18 seconds). No complaints with the start-up time here. My biggest complaint with this TV is the soap opera effect. I have gotten use to it on our LCD Sony 55" which is a couple years old. The Sony has a flawless smoothness effect while this TV has some major flaws in fast paced scenes. If there are words on the screen with the background moving, there is an area around the words that is very noticeable (this is with the "Smooth Motion Effect" on the lowest setting). When that effect is turned off, fast paced scenes look good but slow paced scenes become unbearably jittery. If there was another option between low and off, it would be much better. This is my main reason for 4 stars as this is supposed to be a 240 Hz TV but is pixelated looking compared to our old Sony LCD (120 Hz). To conclude, it's great for $500. The picture quality is superb but could have a better viewing angle. The active LED zones really help produce very dark blacks. The start-up time is fine. The most noticeable flaw is the motion smoothness as having it on the lowest setting is best but for fast paced scenes, it can become somewhat of an eyesore.

I have gone through so many returns but not this 1
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. At first I got a vizio 50 inch E series open box at wallmart it was not for me the pixels were visible and their was a light out so I returned it. After I went to best buy my price rang was 500 to 700 tops and it had to be led, 50 inch , and smart So I got a Samsung, Bad choice it was 650 and only 60 HTZ only two HDMI ,slow possessor and heavy so if you want a good Samsung it has to be at least 1,000 so I again I returned it and got this I love this product its light, it has All the components/plugins you will ever need it comes with a vary nice remote and great display with 240 HTZ Best TV in its price Range I love How the connections are all face downward to the side not inward so when using a wall mount you can still plug in your stuff.... hint ... Try turning most of the advance picture settings off Bottom line best in its price range

Impressive technology for the price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I took my time to do my research on several comparable TVs both on-line and in person and this 50" Vizio always comes out on top. It was delivered earlier than promised and double boxed for security/protection. The assembly and set-up was easy and we were enjoying the entertainment in less than 30 minutes. It was hooked up to 3 HD sources; wifi, blue-ray player and HD antenna. The 1080p rendition on this TV is top notch out of the box but even better once you set it up to your picture preference. The audio needs a little tweaking to produce natural unpretentious sound for regular watching, but needs to be hooked up to external audio system if you need that extra oomph to enjoy that theater-like entertainment. Get your popcorn ready, you'll be entertained and smiling in no time. Although this TV is priced hundreds of dollars lower than other brands, the unit's build quality is A+. The remote control buttons was well thought out and makes a lot of sense, for example the mute button is right below the volume's up/down button. The reverse of the remote control has the qwerty keys to make your input easier when searching for movies on netflix. Overall, based on price, size, and technology packed on this TV, I rate this Vizio M5021-B1 a best buy. When doing your own research, compare this TV's 240Hz refresh rate (for a smoother viewing experience), 20,000,000 to 1 contrast ratio (for a highly detailed picture clarity), V6 Six-core Processor (quad-core PGU and dual-core CPU) (for a smarter & faster smart TV), full array LED with 32 active LED zones (for an even more dynamic picture and blacker blacks). This model is not 3D ready. If you enjoy that technology then look up Vizio with 3D, experts rate Vizio's 3D technology as the best, not all are the same. This model is not 4K. That technology is still too expensive to be practical, and 4K source is yet to come.

It does look great when ON or OFF!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I been looking at this brand and model TV (M-Series) ever since I saw how great picture was and how the picture seemed to go right to the edge of the bezel itself. And after watching the demo that was a big selling point for this model (razor thin) I then knew I wanted this brand and model for my next TV, picture is so crisp clear, and many settings to please most all that buy it. Plus its a smart TV so I finally could remove the computer I was using to stream and just free up more space . Cool remote with a true keyboard on back side. I could ramble on & on. BUY ONE !! you'll love it..

Q: QuestionHow to pick tv size for room 14 feet wide
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Optimim viewing distance for HD flatscreen is 1.5 x screen size. That means a 60 in tv x 1.5= 90 in or 7 ft 6 in for the optimum viewing distance. Looks like an 80 inch would be perfect fot a 14 foot room.

Q: QuestionDoes the Visio 50inch have a coaxial connection for cable?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Yes, but if you plug cable right into the TV you won't receive HD signal. Typically you need a box from the cable company to receive HD signal. Plug the cable from the wall into the HD box, connect the HD box to the TV using an HDMI cord or an optic cord.
