WD - Caviar Black 2 TB 3.5" Internal Hard Drive - Black/Silver

This drive provides fast performance. Great read and write speeds. The installation is very easy if you are tech savvy. I was able to pick this up because of a change in branding for quite a discount.

The only downside I've ever had with WD in general is they can be a bit higher on the price scale: but that's a good thing. In this case, they have every reason to be. I've never steered anyone away from WD as they are a reliable company with great products and deserve to have that higher price tag. I know from working with computers for years that other companies may have some nice equipment that has a cheaper price tag, but you get what you pay for

Purchased it (on clearance) for use in my TiVo after the original one crashed. This drive took the image and expanded out to full capacity and seems to be working flawlessly. Some of the other reviews stated that it is loud, but I had it sitting next to my 'green' drive and couldn't notice an audible difference between the 2 drives.

There's not a whole lot to say about the drive, I didn't put it through the rigors of extensive performance benchmarking. I'm using it on a home server running a few databases, it's faster than my last drive, easy to install so I'm a happy camper. The only thing I'd warn about is that it's a bit on the noisy side.

The 5400 RPM drive that came with my computer was too slow and was creating a performance bottleneck, so it needed swapping. My last replacement drive was a Seagate, and it barely lasted two years, so I opted for WD Black to get the longest warranty possible Easy to install, the drive works great, but it's noticeably louder than the slower drive it replaced.

I purchased this hard drive for backup purposes, installed internally in my desktop computer. It installed easily via a frontal drive bay. I am also pleased with the speed of file backups. What I can say is that the device does the job, and I have no complaints.

I have a few of these hard drives that are currently being used in external enclosures. No problems - just super reliability,great speed; long lifespan and 64MD of cache - highly recommended!

This is a excellent drive for performance desktops that stay running all the time. Excellent performance, easy installation, can not find a better drive on the market.
