Q: Why would someone buy 0 Terabytes -- even for only $399.99 ? What else can these be used for?
A: It gives you the flexability to put your own hard drives in rather than the preconfigured drives. Wd will only sell you wd drives. There are plenty of other companies out there. Also an added benefit is you can usually find the hard drives cheaper individually than all preconfigured. I chose to buy wd red pro 's instead of the standard red hard drives that typically come with the myclouds systems for higher read/write capabilty.
A: You can but keep in mind that you will only be able to run in JBOD configuration. If you need RAID you mist have two drives installed.
