A: Hi, Sony added support for external USB hard drives on the PS5 with their April 2021 update. However, due to PS5 restrictions, games can only be played off the console’s internal SSD. Q: SSD or HDD
A: SSD like it says.
A: WD offers backup software for their drives for free with the purchase of the drive. There are also free options. I do not recommend using an SSD drive for backup of important files and would rather use a HDD. SSDs have a shorter lifespan than actual hard disk drives. Unless you need the transfer speed that a solid state drive offers.
