A: Yes, you can turn it on/off manually at any time.
A: Yes,yes be aware there are 4 wires to connect inside box. So space could be a problem. Can’t use metal faceplate,WiFi signal comes out the front
Q: I have 10 can lights at 65 w per light is this dimmer ok to use with that many lights?
A: No, the Wemo - Wireless Dimmer Switch can support a maximum output wattage of 400 W for Incandescent, 150 W CFL, 150 W LED, and 250 W for incandescent multi-gang bulbs.
A: If your LED lights are dimmable, yes it should work.
A: No. Your lights would have to be wired so that three of them are on one dimmer switch and the other two are on another dimmer switch to do that. This smart dimmer, and all smart dimmers and switches, only act to control a circuit the same as a normal dimmer or switch would control it, the only difference is you can turn the switch on and off through your phone or other smart device. But it will turn all lights on the circuit on or off when activated. It can also be used, by holding it for two seconds, to turn on another WeMo switch or smart outlet. I use it in this capacity to activate the smart outlets that control my undercabinet lighting in my kitchen. Your best bet for what you are trying to accomplish might be to buy smart, dimmable LED lightbulbs, such as those made by Phillips. You cannot turn them on or off from the smart device unless the switch they are connected to is already on. But if you always leave that switch on, you can turn them on and off from your smart device as you wish and control them individually from there, rather than from a switch. In this instance, it is the bulbs you are controlling, not the switch.
Q: Can i set a timer that will then dim the lights (not turn it off) at a later time?
A: Yes, but only reliably through the wemo app. If you are using apple homekit, be warn that it's really hard to make it stay working within apple homekit. I can't speak for other methods such as nest control. If you do use homekit for example, but also aware that setting up "rules" can only be in homekit or wemo, not both - and I would advise wait to set up these rules until you are finish with installation of the device with other apps if you are using them.
Q: Will this switch work with a 3 way slave switch?
A: If you're referring to a 3-way (multi-location control) switches, then the Wemo Dimmer is not compatible with it, Jgriff.
A: I've wired to 110AC/12DC dimmable transformer and it smoked both switch and trans which leads me to believe it's electronic. A standard mag dimmer sw works perfectly.
