This review is for Mill Creek's release of 1979's When A Stranger Calls. I believe this title was previously available when Mill Creek released it along with Happy Birthday To Me. It's good to have this underappreciated title on it's own release. Now since this is a budget title, there really are no big extras like you see for titles from Arrow or Scream Factory. But the picture quality is great, dialogue and music come through fine, and if you're lucky to get it while it's still available, you'll get a retro VHS-style slipcover (with faux rental store stickers) for that extra bit of nostalgia. Definitely recommend this.

This film rocks! After all these years, it still holds up to deliver several good chills! The Blumhouse films have nothing on the original WHEN A STRANGER CALLS! If you have not previously seen it, do yourself a favor and check it out!

One of my all time faves. Charles Durning is great as the detective looking for the killer of the kids. One of the great chilling lines. Have u checked the children. Gives me goosebumps.
