Load up this Whirlpool dishwasher after dinner, and let the TotalCoverage spray arm ensure a spotless clean. A built-in soil sensor adjusts the normal cycle as needed to take care of every bit of dirt, and a convenient touch panel sets the machine with a tap. This Whirlpool dishwasher features an in-door silverware basket, leaving more room in the tub.
Tap touch controls
Clean these controls as easily as you use them.
Cycle status indicator
The full lit display glows for wash, drain, drying, sanitized and clean along with the time in hours and minutes so there's no need to guess when your dishes will be ready.
Lets you set the dishwasher to start running while you're working, sleeping or running errands.
In-Door Silverware basket
Frees up rack space by easily fitting on the front of the lower rack or in the door to make room for more dishes.
Adjustable upper rack
Manually raise or lower the upper rack two inches to better fit tall items.
Stainless steel tub
Promotes drying by retaining heat from wash and rinse cycles. Plus, it cools faster than the dishes so moisture can condense on the interior walls and not the dishes.
Accommodates up to 15 place settings
Generous interior space means more clean dishes, fewer loads.
TotalCoverage spray arm
Cleans with twice the jets for more coverage. A smarter sequence of spray patterns from multiple nozzles hits dishes throughout the cycle.
High temperature wash for better, safer clean
Gives items like baby bottles, glassware or dishes a more thorough clean.
Energy Star certified
Energy Star certified models exceed government standards to help save money on your utility bills.
Heated dry option
Use a clean, dry dish straight from the dishwasher thanks to added heat for drying. For optimal drying results, use this option with rinse aid.
Automatically selects the right wash and dry settings for your load by using two separate sensors to measure temperature, soil level and load size once during the prewash and once during the wash cycle.
Use for normal amounts of food soil to clean up leftover messes from your day-to-day meals.
1-Hour Wash Cycle
Cleans dishes in half the time compared to Normal cycle with lightly soiled loads so your plates, pans and glasses are thoroughly cleaned up and taken care of in just an hour.
Take care of heavily-soiled messes and other hard-to-clean dishes without the extra elbow grease by adding extra time to the cycle.
Dishwasher hookup kit is sold separately and is not included.

Whirlpool 24" Top Control Built-In Dishwasher with Stainless Steel Tub
Easy to use. Like the one hour washing feature. Cleans the dishes really well. Don’t love the silverware holder on the door. And would prefer adjustable bottom shelf as well. Overall good for the price. And I’m happy with it.
We thought about spending less, but we settled on this because of reviews. Honestly, I'd probably go with a cheaper model next time, but I do think this one is fine. The qualms I have are small, but I don't think they're any different than qualms I'd have if I spent a lot less.
It cleans dishes well. Not sure if modern dishwashers require wash aid as a trade off to using less water, but my old dishwasher could air dry dishes a lot better than this one. You really need to time the cycle out if you want to air dry, which is tough if you run it after dinner, and crack the door as soon as it's done. My old Frigidaire dishwasher had a vent. Installation was easy, but the clips that attach to the washer to screw it into counter or side cabinet are flimsy and the instructions are really unclear on the options. We made it work, but whoever uninstalls it is gonna see what a mockery it was.
All said though, it cleans dishes well and we have cut down on our handwashing since we pretty much throw everything in here. It fits a lot and is easy to load except for the silverware tray. One issue is it doesn't srrms to remember my last settings, so I aleays have to turn off heat dry. I've gotten used to the silverware tray on the door, but I wish it latched better onto the bottom rack. It's designed to just sort of sit on two tiny nubs, and easy falls or pulls off. It would be better on or the rack, but it comes off really easily and has no other natural place to sit, so I just keep it on the door.
My old Whirlpool dishwasher was rendered useless by a power surge so I had to find a new one in a hurry. I looked at all my options online and discovered that, due the pandemic, manufacturing had come to a screeching halt so no inventory was available in quite a few brands and models and/or a wait of 60-90 days to order and install. Who wants to wash dishes for that long? All of my appliances are Whirlpool except for my microwave so I knew the quality and reliability. I wanted a quiet dishwasher with the anywhere silverware basket, and Whirlpool seems to be the only brand that offers this option although not in all models. This particular one is quieter than my old which I only ran at night at bedtime so I didn't have to put up with the noise. I could probably run this during the daytime and still be happy with the lack of noise. The only thing I would have liked was the extra 3rd rack (shallow upper rack for utensils and small items), but it was either get the silverware basket on the door or the flex rack as it is called. To me, the silverware basket placement was more important. With the basket on the door, you can fit more dishes on the bottom rack. I've had really good luck with all of my Whirlpool appliances (stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, washer, and dryer) so I saw no need to change brands when this line fits the bill and then some. This particular model was a slight upgrade from old one with the quieter operation and a stainless steel interior.
After 20 years of faithful service my Kenmore dishwasher (also built by Whirlpool) gave out. Replaced it with this Whirlpool dishwasher.
I’ve only had it about three weeks but so far do good. Super quiet to the point of being totally silent. Adjustable upper rack is very useful. Three wash arms ensure good cleaning. The silverware rack in the door is impractical so, I move it to the lower rack. Problem solved.
I’m still pre-rinsing the dishes just to prevent waste build up in the machine or its plumbing as s lot of problems of that kind are reported in YouTube videos. Got the extended five Year warranty based on posted recommendations for peace of mind.
The installers from Quality Kitchen were ok. Insist on connecting the dishwasher drain to the sink air gap and not to the disposal drain to prevent garbage disposal backing up into the dishwasher drain. YouTube videos noted this as a glaring problem and a common damage to the dishwasher and thereby shortening the life of the machine.
Recommend running a cup of white vinegar every couple of months to sanitize the machine and keeping the drain hose clear of debris.
Bourght theWDTA50SAHZ July 4 and am pleased so far. I see other models included in these reviews, but this is a sleek design and very quiet, can't tell it's running unless I'm next to it. It replaced a 22 y.o. GE Profile that was still running except it leaked a little when draining. I'm still experimenting with loading efficiently, but seems to hold much more. I was concerned about the height, as this lists as 34 1/2" in specs and my floor to counter height is only 34". Installer and salesman assured me of adjustable feet, and they were correct. I wish the specs indicated adjustable feet to eliminate this concern. I don't use a d/w often, maybe every 2 wks but installer said I should run it every week to prevent dry rot! This was never an issue with my old one. Fortunately this was on sale for $599, as I still had sticker shock, not having bought a d/w in 22 yrs. No fingerprints show on d/w and that's a relief. Those who don't like the silverware rack in the door can move it to the bottom rack. Have only used it once so far. Very pleased overall.
