This Whynter WC-212BD wine cooler features 2 temperature zones with separate touch-screen control panels for flexible storage options. Two dotted, smoked-glass doors allow you to access one zone without disturbing the other.
Q: Can you store champagne/ Proseco bottles inside?
A: You can, but you won’t be able to use all of the racks. I use the bottom section for champagne and need to remove 2 racks. I set bottles on the base of the fridge and the remaining two racks and can fit 9 bottles (vs. the 15 standard bottles you can fit). I also alternate how the bottles lay in order to fit them. Not perfect but it works, and I’m not sure how many Wine fridges exist that are built to accommodate the champagne bottle shape.
Q: What are the dimensions of the wine cooler?
A: This unit measures 32.5 inches high, 13.5 inches wide and 20.8 inches deep.
Q: Can it go under a counter? Or is it free standing only? Thanks
A: This is freestanding only.
Q: how cold does this get? can you use it for beer also?
A: I wouldn't. The bottom will only get to 11C. The top will get to 7C.
A: It's best to be able to open the door very widely so that Drawer can slide out. Also make sure drawer is pushed all the way in as you close door because my rubber door gasket has been getting pinched in the door.
Q: Does this unit have a light?
A: There is no light in either the upper or lower sections
Q: Is this wine cooler loud or quiet when plugged in? Will it fit Champagne bottles?
A: It’s about as loud as any other small fridge. It gets louder and softer depending on how much load it has. When the compressor is running, it sounds like a laptop fan running high. When the compressor is off it is silent. I think that it will fit champagne bottles with no problem. For even wider bottles (like port) I take the bottom shelf out and store them on the floor of the fridge.
A: The unit has black housing with a stainless steel door trim.
