Synopsis

Wrath of the Titans
The epic battle between the Titans and the gods continues in this sequel set ten years after the events in Clash of the Titans, as Perseus (Sam Worthington) descends into the underworld on a mission to rescue Zeus from the clutches of Hades (Ralph Fiennes), Ares (Edgar Ramirez), and Kronos. In the wake of his decisive victory against the Kraken, Perseus has retreated to a remote fishing village to raise his young son, Helius. Meanwhile, humanity has lost faith in the gods. As a result, Zeus, Hades, and Poseidon find their power beginning to slip, a development that could spell disaster for all of humankind should their imprisoned father, Kronos, manage to break free from his underworld prison in Tartarus. When Perseus learns that Zeus' son Ares has teamed with Hades and Kronos to capture Zeus, steal his power, and create hell on Earth, the time comes to take action. Now, with Andromeda (Rosamund Pike), Argenor (Toby Kebbell), and Hephaestus (Bill Nighy) by his side, brave Perseus will venture deep into the underworld on a mission to defeat the Titans, deliver Zeus from evil, and prevent the powers of darkness from consuming all of humanity. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

A decade after his heroic defeat of the monstrous Kraken, Perseus-the demigod son of Zeus-is attempting to live a quieter life as a village fisherman and the sole parent to his 10-year old son, Helius. Meanwhile, a struggle for supremacy rages between the gods and the Titans. Dangerously weakened by humanity's lack of devotion, the gods are losing control of the imprisoned Titans and their ferocious leader, Kronos, father of the long-ruling brothers Zeus, Hades and Poseidon. Perseus cannot ignore his true calling when Hades, along with Zeus' godly son, Ares (Edgar Ramírez), switch loyalty and make a deal with Kronos to capture Zeus. The Titans' strength grows stronger as Zeus' remaining godly powers are siphoned.

Do not buy if you want a good plot and originality

The original 'Clash of the Titans' had a smart plot and story. It was entertaining and is a great movie. The remake uses the same plot and adds action and comuter effects. I enjoyed it. This sequal was a poor attempt to get "God of War" fans to pay to see it. It feels exactly like "God of War" with the Temple that is a puzzle and an architect that knows the secret to the puzzle. The God Kronos, unlike "God of War" was not memorable. Apparently all you have to do is fly down his throut and cut his throat with a weapon. This is a waste of time. It's a shame that a good remake had a bad sequal. The only reason to see this is Rosamund Pike. She is beautiful.

I loved Clash of the Titans. Saw it with my son at the theatre and then purchased the DVD. When I saw this blu-ray I asked him if he remembered the Clash back in the day for him. He is a college freshman and he replied "Heck yeah". This is not that movie. The best effects are on the cover. It was OK and I love these kind of movies. I am happy I have it, but I suggest if you do not know movies dealing with Greek gods, cyclops and just plain evil move on. If you love those things get this movie, just do not expect a classic.

This was in my opinion, better than the first as far as visual, directing and plot. The 3d was immersive, even for a conversion, this was top notch. Lots of great depth and quite a few pop outs. The plot was better, not academy award winning, but good enough for a popcorn movie. The characters played their parts great throughout the movie and the each held there own to carry the movie. The best part was climatic battle scene which left me in awe and should be seen in awesome 3d.

I do love special effects. There are really great special effects in this movie. I really didn't like the storyline. Visually well done, but lacking in the storyline. Toby Kebbell as Poseiden's son was definitely welcome comic relief. I also didn't like the recasting of Andromeda. Rosamund Pike did a great job, but I prefer to see the same cast throughout a series.

This movie doesn't waste anytime on story or plot, it is simply a non-stop action set piece. The skimpy story is set up within the first 3 minutes, and then they get right into the action. However, this does not mean that the movie is not enjoyable. If you were a fan of the first movie in the remade series, I would be surprised if you didn't enjoy this.

The movie itself is great. This description, however, is mislabeled. Be aware. There is no DVD or digital copy included with the product. All you get is a Blu-ray disc. I thought it was a mistake at first, so I had it reshipped. I got the exact same thing. Hopefully this helps and it gets fixed before it happens to anyone else.

More visual eye candy than story

Visually this movie is amazing and Sam Worthington is doing a bit more actual action than in the previous movie, but that's where the good stuff stops. The story is pretty much the same as it was in Clash of the Titans and uses the same plot devices. That all being said, it's still an entertaining piece of cinema and worth seeing to make your own opinion.
