A: If the batteries are dead you can give the lock a quick charge by placing a 9 volt battery under the keypad. there is an obvious place for it.
Q: wil the unit let you know when the batteries are running low.
A: Yes. The app sends a notification that the batteries are low
A: No, the deadbolt is beveled and aligning it is very easy. It literally is so quiet during actuation that at times I have to look to be sure it has latched. The auto lock feature (place your hand over the keypad as you leave) can be set to play a sound when the deadbolt is in place. This is a great piece of hardware!
Q: How do I remove cover to replace batteries?
A: The battery cover is the larger cover on the inside of the door. There is a small screw hole at the top, remove that and the cover comes off exposing the batteries for an easy replacement.
Q: Can I set up a code to be accessible only on certain days and times?
A: No, not that I'm aware of. Multiple codes, but no scheduling built within the app itself. Not sure if there is some other way to do this using IFTT (If this then that), but again not within the app/lock itself.
Q: Can it be installed outside?
A: Yes, I have all mine on external doors, including near sea/water/hot and humid conditions all year around (Florida coast).
