A: There are separate receptacles for clean water and cleaning solution on the top tank. The tank includes a knob on the front that toggles between "Rinse" and "Wash". "Wash" allows the water to mix with the cleaning solution; "Rinse" stops the mixing and allows only water to be sprayed.
Q: Will this clean hardwoods , tile , and laminates? Description mentions cleaning grout .
A: Yes, the description located on this webpage states "SpinScrub rotating brush for tough stains Tackle stubborn stains effortlessly with a SpinScrub rotating brush that scrubs dried-on sticky messes and cleans the grout between your tiles."
A: It is a carpet shampooer. It works by spraying water and cleaner on the floor and scrubbing it. Then you suck up the water/cleaning/dirt mixture. It does not operate as a standard vacuum cleaner. I own the Hoover carpet cleaner to wet scrub my carpet and a Dyson for vacuuming the carpets.
A: The Power Scrub Elite warms up the cleaning solution and the rinse water and does not create any steam. While it is effective and has two cleaning options (one for normal cleaning and one for deep cleaning) many areas that I have used it on have required two to three cleanings. I've tried the pet and the professional cleaning fluids and found that the pet solution does a better job with set in dirt and a lot better job with odors. The machine is effective in getting out everyday dirt but has a little tougher time on the ground in stuff. You also need to be careful about walking on the area cleaned while it is still wet. The cleaning solution will do a great job pulling the dirt out of your socks or off your bare feet and you will end up with soiled carpets.
Q: Does this machine have a rinse option?
A: Yes...I just did my floor...so much dirt with the liquid and follow up with recommended rinse and it pulled up a bunch more.
Q: Can this machine use the brushes only without the cleaner being disbursed?
A: Yes. You can put it in RINSE MODE.
Q: How many amps is the motor?
A: Hi Noel! The Power Scrub Elite comes with a powerful 10 amp motor. Hope this helps! -Michael, Hoover Customer Care
