Halo Wi-Fi Smart Lock is a keyless entry electronic deadbolt featuring SmartKey. Using the Kwikset App, you can lock/unlock, program up to 250 user access codes, and receive notifications from anywhere there's an Internet connection. This single cylinder deadbolt can be locked or unlocked by using the keypad or key from the outside as well as the turn button from the inside.     • Do the instructions show you how to disable the existing door knob locking mechanism? This would prevent someone from locking the doorknob.

      No. There is no way to do this. My recommendation would be replace the locking knob with a pass-through knob so that you can always have access. I've noticed a trend of no longer using both a deadbolt and a locking knob and just having a deadbolt. In my case I replaced the locking knob with a Juno signature series passthrough knob. The signature series knobs are the nicer knobs and the juno series knob in venetian bronze is a great match for the keypad.

    • Can the key lock mechanism be rekeyed to fit my current Kwikset door key that also fits the other doors in my house? I don't want to have to carry multiple keys, most Kwikset deadbolt locks can be keyed to fit an existing key - that is why I am asking.

      Yes, the Halo Smart Lock has the SmartKey technology which allows rekeying the lock at any time to the other Kwikset key but is not compatible with other brands.

    • If I have multiple access codes, does this lock allow me to see which code was used, and at what times the codes were used in the app? Will it give me real time info as to when the door was unlocked and by which code?

      Short answer is Yes and there is a history log for each lock. Longer answer is there are two types of users. App users, and keypad users and they are separate and both are logged when they do things to the lock. keypad users don't have to have the app installed. You create keypad users with access codes. Those access codes are stored in keypad. When a keypad user enters their keypad code, you will get a notification. There is also a log in the lock that you look at where this is running history off the accesses date/time, and user. Then there are the app users. These are people that have the app installed and can use the app to lock/unlock the app. You also get a notification when one of these app users uses the app to lock/unlock and it shows up in the history log. These two types of users are different and separate. In my locks I keep them the same name to avoid confusion. Integration with Alexa is very good. You can lock, unlock, and even asks status of the lock. To unlock you will need to assign a unlock pin in alexa.

      Yes, the Access Codes can be edited, deleted and added at any time by using the Kwikset App.
