A: I encountered this also the first few days of using it. Then it froze on a gray screen and could do nothing but force restart wth power button. Pretty skeptical at this point.
A: You would have to buy it (it probably includes a "trial" version). Consider downloading Open Office from the Internet, a free Microsoft Office compatible word processing program which should work fine for you.
A: More than likely, no. With gaming you will want a dedicated graphics card. It depends on the games and how well you want to play them. You will NOT find a quality gaming laptop in this price range. If you are willing to play the games with horrible frame rates and are willing to turn the graphics down to the lowest, you may be able to play some games. Minecraft can probably be run with this, and simple games like that... maybe. You want a laptop with a good graphics card included though. My recommendation is to look at gaming laptops. They quite often go on sale, and if you can find open box deals then you are solid. This is most certainly not a gaming laptop.

Q: What is the cost to upgrade to 16 or 24 gig of memory?
A: Anything more than 8gb of memory is a waste unless you are gaming big time, but usually costs about $100 for the memory and if you install it yourself you will save on labor. Google how to install the memory, it's not hard to do.
