28" Class (27.5" Diag.) - LED - 720p - HDTV

My son likes it. It's steady I love the stand. Instead of one in the middle the two on the sides are better. Plus you can fit a small DVD player under the tv. Only down fall is it isn't in the directv remote book.

This TV runs on a 12V power supply which allows it to operate on the 12V service in an RV. Great picture and good sound quality

Good picture. Use it with my sons gaming PC as a monitor. Works well for him as he sits close to it on his desk. Games look great on it. Only downside so far I've seen is the controls on the TV itself are difficult to use if you do not have the remote in hand. Also, the DC in cable is detachable from this TV. I've typically seen that this is built in and then simply plugs in the wall. I feel this makes it more vulnerable for damage as my son moves it around often. If you will keep it in one spot, this should not be an issue. Overall though it's a great TV acting as a monitor.

In looking at many smaller sizes TV's in the 24" to 32" size range, the Insignia brand had a great picture compared to other brands that were a lot more money. I elected to go with the 28" in our RV. Another GREAT aspect of the 32" (or less) Insignia TV's is the external power adapter converts from 120 Volts (normal home power) to 12 Volts DC for the plug at the back of the TV; the TV itself requires 12 Volts DC to operate. Those that have RV's can simply purchase a 12 volt cigarette plug (rated at 5 amps) and add a proper matting plug for the back of the TV ; it will work on 12 Volts in a vehicle, RV or 12 volt DC solar power system. A versatile use TV at a great value!

First, don't buy this expecting excellence. There's a pretty large gap between high end and low end in today's TV market. That being said, don't judge this TV by the specs. 720p is perfectly fine at 28 inches, unless maybe you want to use this as a computer monitor. While there isn't much of a high end at 28 inches, you can tell where they cut corners. The picture looks a bit flat and discolored from the sides. I know what I wanted, and for the price, I'm very happy.

I purchased this specific model to go into our RV. It had to fit in a specific place and had to run on 12v DC. This model has an in-line power supply that converts 120v to 12vDC. I bought a matching plug for the TV and wired it directly to the 12v side of the RV. Works great. The tuner found both off air and RV park cable channels just fine everywhere we went. Picture is fine for RV use. Used the audio out from the TV into the RVs sound system. So far, so good.

This is the third Insignia brand TV we have purchased from Best Buy. Each are easy to set up with our DirecTV, provide clear, sharp pictures and reliable service. Why spend money on the "name" brands when Best Buy can give you the same quality? I also like dealing with the Best Buy personnel on the floor of the store or the Geek Squad. They are always willing to assist me, answer any questions I have and get my products working, with explaining to this non-technical person the best use of each product.
