Reasonable if bought on sale
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall this TV has done an adequate job. I use it primarily as a secondary monitor for my laptop, but it is also used as a display for my PS3. There is a little ghosting on high motion, but that is expected from a sub $200 display. One major issue is backlight dimness in all four corners. I suspect this is caused by an engineering defect/oversight wherein the LEDs which light the screen do not extend to the edge of the display. When using this TV for video and games it is not as noticeable, but when used as a computer screen it is very apparent.

Excellent TV that Rivals More Expensive Models
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought a 55" TV (another brand) recently that was great for movies but not so great for videogames since I like being closer to the screen and it was too far away in my living room. So I bought this 32" as a maybe-maybe-not dedicated gaming monitor for my office (and so I'm not taking up the living room TV when I want to unwind and play some games). PICTURE: I have to say, it delivers an absolutely beautiful picture...MUCH better than my larger screen TV, which is plagued with the infamous "dirty screen effect" so common on larger panels. The image on this Insignia is clean, crisp, and clear...almost so sharp that I actually had to turn the sharpness down. 1080p on a smaller screen looks fantastic, much crisper than on larger screens, with no vertical banding or DSE anywhere to be found..and believe me, I've had such bad experiences with it that I was looking HARD and couldn't find any flaws. There is very little ghosting as compared to the older CFL-LCD models and it's only 60hz, but that doesn't mean much since most people can't stand the "sped up" 120hz images more expensive TVs produce and end up turning it off anyway. I also hook my laptop up to it as a computer monitor and it fits wonderfully after after I make some adjustments with my graphics card. Newbies who try this may notice blackness around the image, which can be fixed by adjusting the resolution on your computer. Is the image as good as it would be with a "dedicated" computer monitor? No, not really, as colors are a bit more washed out and the contrast ratio isn't as deep, but it's still great for playing older PC games or using emulators. Overall, a fantastic picture that is far, far better than my expensive 55" television. SOUND: The sound isn't nearly as tinny as the Westinghouse line, where an external speaker system is absolutely mandatory. This Insignia's won't please audiophiles, but for 90% of people, it will be just fine. If you have it as a living room or bedroom TV, you may want to consider picking up some computer speakers at Walmart for $10 just to get the sound to fill the room. However, I have my TV in my 9x11 office and, while I originally had external speakers hooked up, I ended up taking them off since I found them to be unnecessary. The built-in speakers are more than good enough for a closed-in space. Will you get the bass and surround quality of an external speaker system? Of course not, but for what it has, the speakers are excellent. FEATURES: It doesn't have smart features, but who needs them when your Xbox/Laptop/Blu-Ray player/Roku/virtually anything nowadays all does the same thing? It has plenty of image/sound adjustments and modes. Some may wish it had more than two HDMI ports, however, if you're planning to have more than one game console hooked up to it. It's common for most TVs to have at least three, so it's unusual for this one to only have two. I have a Playstation 3 and an Xbox 360 hooked up now, but am planning on getting an Xbox One soon and am not looking forward to having to buy an external HDMI switcher. This won't be a problem for the majority of people who may only have one console, or just a Blu-Ray player, but for multi-platform gamers, it might be a pretty annoying hurtle. STYLE: This Insignia doesn't just produce a stunning picture for a budget TV, but also looks fantastic on the outside. The glossy black bezel is razor thin, so some LED lights behind it (which I've ordered) would truly give it the appearance of a "floating" picture. And at only about 10 pounds, you can put it virtually anywhere and perhaps even mount it without a stud if you were feeling braver than me. My favorite physical feature, though, might just be its unconventional stand, which is much smaller than the usual wide platforms a lot of TVs come with with. The thin stand is barely wider than the TV's already-thin frame, which makes it an ideal computer monitor (again, probably best for older games) that fits perfectly on a desk with lots of room to spare for a keyboard and mouse. FINAL: This 32" Insignia is the ideal small TV for an office or bedroom that looks as good when turned off as it does when turned on. Save yourself a hundred bucks and buy this one instead of the shiny model next to it that just happens to have a brand name...because, despite only having two HDMI ports, it really doesn't get much better than this.

Great TV at a GREAT price!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I actually went to buy a different TV when I went to the Best Buy store and ended up with this one. BUT...I'm glad I found it! I originally went to buy a 32" Hisense because it was on sale for $149 and I just needed something to put in one of my kids' rooms. However, when I got there, they didn't have anymore. So, I started looking around to see what else was available in that price range. I will say that at first it was difficult distinguishing the difference between all the 32" Insignia TV's because they all looked the same but had different serial numbers; so, with a 3-year old in tow, I quickly tried to determine what each model was, what the difference was, and the cost of each. I was pleasantly surprised when I found this one for about $20 more than what I was going to buy the Hisense for, AND...it was 1080p! Not the 720p I was GOING to get because it usually seems that 1080p TV's cost more than I want to spend. I have to say I had previously owned a 50" (I believe) Insignia and after 9 or 10 months the screen started to delaminate (Best Buy took care of it, though, so...I have no complaints about Best Buy's service); so, I was a little leery about getting another Insignia but I will also say this about the last 1080p/120Hz Insignia I had...the picture was AWESOME. My kids even used to say that it almost looked fake to them because it looked so clear and real. So, needless to say, I bought this one at a price I was VERY agreeable with, put it in my kids room, and she is VERY happy with it! I know Insignia is like their 'house brand' but you can't beat the price for the TV you're getting!

Quality TV for the price, 5 Stars.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV is great. I purchased this TV as part of my wife's Valentine's day / Birthday present. The gift that keeps giving. Setup was easy and the picture and sound quality are great. I hooked this TV up to a Direct TV receiver (No HD), Blue Ray DVD player and it looks outstanding when playing movies. I would recommend buying a ROCKETFISH HDMI cable. The picture is out of this world. When watching regular tv and movie channels the picture is ok. Keep in mind, that my Direct TV receiver is not HD. Picture, sound quality / volume get 5 stars from me.

Nice tv at a great price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted a 32" television for the bedroom. I did not need any "bells and whistles", just a basic television that I could use with an over-the-air antenna. My main requirement was that it have a headphone jack. One that you can just plug the headphones right into. It is really difficult to find televisions nowadays that have this feature. I've had this tv for about a month now and it works great. Really nice picture quality. The sound is fine. For $179 it was a great buy. A "Best Buy" one might say.

Q: Questionwhy should I buy store(insignia)? The last store brand I bought(elsewhere) was trash
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Read my review on the insignia TV. I own three of them and for the price they are excellent. The price point on these are so reasonable that if you are worried about longevity/quality you can purchase the extended warranty like I did with my first INSIGNIA(3 years no problems). These go on sale often for 179.00 which is like black friday prices.

Q: Questionwhy does display info show 720 and not 1080 on ns-32d511na15
Asked by jc.
- A:Answer It shows the resolution the TV is receiving from your cable box or other source device. The source controls the resolution, so you will need to ensure that the source is sending out a 1080 signal to the TV.
