Q: Can model 614 be programmed to start on its own
A: this model, is not wifi built in (no app neither) old school you need to touch the buttons
Q: Does it work on tile and wood floors?
A: Yes, it will also travel from wood onto carpet.
Q: it is good for picking up dog hair or will that ruin it??
A: Just purchased my Roomba 614 and you will be amazed at everything it picks up. I have a dog and Roomba is great for picking up hair and you won’t believe all the dust it picks up. Bought my first Roomba in 1991 or 2000 and I am so happy to have this new and improved Model.
Q: Does the Roomba "Learn" the floor plan or just wander around?
A: Roomba 614 doesn’t have the navigation lens to learn and build a map of your floorplan. The Roomba 614 uses an acoustic sensor to detect debris being pulled into the bin and continues to clean in that area until nothing else is detected. To navigate, the 614 uses its soft touch bumper to move throughout your room and around pieces of furniture.
Q: Will it pic up things like a tissue, q-tip, such size items? Easy to empty?
A: Yes it will. Picks up cat toys if I forget to collect beforehand. Easy to empty. I have had it get stuck on pet pads
Q: Will it work on a medium pile carpet or on a shag carpet?
A: It can, but not too well. It sweeps well but it does suck up dirt etc. from carpets. It will.pick up the surface dirt, but can’t replace a real vaccum on carpet.
A: Yes. It is limited to what it can cover by its ~1 hour battery time, but if does explore multiple room within reason. It may be challenged to do a whole floor of a house.
Q: Does the robot have universal charger???
A: No it does not have a Universal charger
