Q: Can you take the sides off?
A: They're actually not installed out of the box, so you can choose not to put them on. They're also easily removable if you do install them at some point.
A: The X27P has not yet been released as of May 14, but it shouldn't be long new. It is reputed to have VRR and also 576 dimmable zones. Acer is aware but they are saying nothing yet. Pricing is ??? The X27 is now on sale, to clear the shelves in anticipation of the new model. Certainly a lot more tempting at $1299.99.
Q: Is this the X27P model with the new VRR over HDMI?
A: Not yet. You'll have to be patient a little longer.
