This is a great game. It is incredibly fun to pretend to be a rockstar in your living room. Whether you prefer drums, bass/guitar or vocals this game has you covered. I recommend it for anyone who is into something a little more lighthearted and geared towards that social gaming experience. Plus, if you can connect online via forums to other GH/RB players you can play against/with each other online!

A "Hero" for the Family

Band Hero is a great family game. It's easy to set up - just put the pieces together, plug it in, insert the disc, and play. There are songs for almost everyone in the family to enjoy. This game really challenges the person(s) on the microphone (up to four lead singers).
The audio quality is great - Dolby 5.1 Surround Sound. Almost all the tracks sound like they have been remastered for this game.
Music includes artists and song titles ranging from the Jackson 5's "ABC" to Taylor Swift's "Love Story" and "You Belong With Me," Hinder's "Lips of an Angel" to Marvin Gaye's "I Heard It Through the Grapevine," Carl Douglas' "Kung Fu Fighting" to the Spice Girls' "Wannabe," The All-American Rejects' "Dirty Little Secret" to Evanescence's "Bring Me to Life," and the list just goes on and on...at least until you count up to 65 songs.
If you're looking for the new drum set containing circular cymbals compared to the original triangular-shaped cymbals, this is not the bundle for you. Included in this bundle is the same drum set from the Guitar Hero World Tour bundle. The new drum set is [for now] exclusive to the Wii, which will be packaged with the Xbox 360 and PS3 bundles later this season or early next year. The guitar is the same one from the Guitar Hero 5 bundle and the microphone is just a regular Guitar Hero mic.
***On the major downside, the auto-calibration system is just not there. I've read reviews on Guitar Hero World Tour and Guitar Hero 5, and many people have been experiencing calibration problems. The same goes for this game. When calibrating, there may not be any video lag, but there is significant audio lag. It was a trial-and-error process for the first SEVERAL HOURS of gameplay.
What may work for most people is calibrating only the video lag and setting the audio lag anywhere from 160 to 200 (the maximum). My video lag was calibrated to 0 (zero), but my audio lag needs to be within the 160 to 200 range. My audio lag is currently set around 180. Hopefully, this will fix the calibration for those having trouble with this part.***
Also, there is an annoying internet connection check when you start the game every time. I think it's for accessing leaderboards to post your scores online or whatnot - I forgot what it says. It's not something to really gripe about (after you press start, just press circle to go back and select OK), but it is there.
Overall, Band Hero is a great game for those interested in mainstream music. Almost everyone in the family will be reaching for an instrument to play.

It Has Its Flaws, But It's a Great Game, Anyway

I bought this game on Sunday, & I'm liking. Right when I botted up the game, it loaded up the DLC I got beforehand, & then it loaded right to Party Play (good move). Once I pressed start, the game got even better. The amount of modes & great gameplay will keep the party going for hours. The setlist, it's pretty good. Sure, it's got Taylor Swift, but the other 62 songs are great (concidering the pop theme). The character creator is also pretty deep, which is good. The down side, you won't get all the songs when you import (GHWT, GHSH, & GH5). Activision & Neversoft said they'll bring more, but a release date for the extra imports have not been confirmed, yet. The characters look great (even the actual stars). I also like to note the mo-capping is nothing short of amazing. They actually move like regular people, not robots. Sure, you may get a little too much pink, & you don't get the BH drums like the Wii version, but it's a good game anyway. Oh, & to those who will play online, do yourselves & the community a favor & get some of the free DLC on the Music Store (it'll keep the others online happy).

Got this over the holidays. Was a huge hit at our Christmas party with both the kids (tweens) and the adults. Very easy to use (which is helpful at parties!), simple to switch between instruments, songs, singers etc.
I love that you can transfer you Guitar Hero World Tour and GH 5 so you can have all (well almost all) the songs in one spot.

Microphone setup was surprisingly difficult (needed to set it up in a System menu), and really, why isn't it wireless at this point?
That said, we've had great fun with this. Got Guitar Hero World Tour on clearance and added those songs as well to really expand the song collection.
If you haven't owned other music games, try this one!

I purchased this for the family to go with our PS3 and 55" LCD TV. When we hooked it up on Christmas Day everyone had a great time playing. Everything was easy to set up and worked right the first time.

all shipments to area had defective wiring

Bought the game for my kids on a Sunday. Took it back on Tuesday. The wires on the drum set fell apart and made black scuff marks all over my wood floors. The store replaced it but the replacement was the same. Took it back to the store again and they checked every box. All of them were defective and pulled of the shelves. Went to another store and had the same problem. Returned it and still don't have the game. Guess that's why they were clearancing it out at $49.99. Waiting for new shipment before I repurchase at full price. Hope they improve the quality control.
