Great for beginner to aspiring photo editorPosted .
Photoshop Elements is a fantastic photo editing software suite for what most users would be looking for including those who have little to no previous experience. The photobook organization is a bit of a work in progress. Beginner - Adobe has lots of pre canned tools that are super easy to use. If you want to make fancy collages and slide shows to showcase your pictures, the software is very intuitive. The slick photo editing tools, like removing red eye, or fixing problems within a picture is done pretty much for you, simply by selecting the picture, and choosing the effect. Adobe has also included a huge assortment of picture modifications for you to have fun with, like making a picture look as if it were hand drawn, or taken in the 1850’s. If is a ton of fun to play with the software and just create photos, that look like you were a pro. It also has easy hooks into twitter and other social media sites for quick optimized posting. Novice - Adobe has also included a huge assortment of more advanced tools that you would find in the full photoshop product. Advanced photo editing, layering, and manipulation can be done, but there is certainly a learning curve here. You aren’t going to be clicking a few buttons and moving a slider as with the some of the more basic picture manipulation techniques, so it will take some figuring out - but the suite is very feature rich, and will fit the bill for any aspiring graphical artist, or hardcore photo junky. I would certainly say though it is not complicated - after a few hours I found myself quite comfortable moving throughout some of the more advanced tools, but Adobe has done a good job of navigational design, so that those who are not interested in these features, don’t get lost here looking for the basics, and those that do want them, aren’t searching them out. Tutorials - For those that find themselves somewhere in between but want to become familiar with some of the more advanced functions, don’t fret. Adobe has included some great tutorials on using the basic and more advanced tools, that do a great job of bridging the gap in experience. As for the photobook/organizer I found it to be a bit clumsy, but overall decent. For myself at least, I was primarily looking to this software for its photo editing abilities, so the photobook style storage took little away from the products overall benefit. I highly recommend this software for both basic and advanced users - I was very happy with my ability to find myself using the software to do what I wanted within minutes of installation, and a few tutorials later doing things I thought would be way over my head.I would recommend this to a friend

Amazing Tools in an affordable packagePosted .
Adobe Photoshop Elements 2019 As a Corel Paintshop pro 2018 user, I was very anxious to try the new and improved Adobe Photoshop Elements 2019. I have use previous versions of Photoshop but wasn’t satisfied with the interface. Most of the time it was too complicated. That is all changed now. The download instructions were a bit vague and you need to read them carefully to make sure you enter the serial number provided, or you will just have the “trial” version. There is no user guide but there is a search box at the top of the home page where you can type in what you want to do. Adobe does have a tutorial on their website which I suggest the user check out if not familiar with Photoshop. The Home screen is easy to navigate, search photos or allows the user to choose between Organizer, Photo Editor and Video Editor (available with the Premier package). I was able to import 1200+ pictures and documents in just a few minutes. However, there were some pictures that Photoshop considered “damaged” and would not import. I’m going to have to see why that is (screen shot of Home page below). I have only used it for a few days fixing some photos that were blurry, red-eye and dark. The corrections feature for those worked very well and it was easy to see the difference of before and after by choosing that option from the interface menu. This is my first time using Photoshop Elements so I have a long way to go to use the vast features that it offers. I’m not a pro but even a novice like me finds it easy to use the basic correction features, color correction, red-eye reduction, sharpness and color enhancements. I’m looking forward to experimenting with as many features as I can. I recommend it to both the amateur and professional photographer because of all the features in a very affordable price. I gave it four stars due to the fact there there is no online user guide included and the download instructions are vague.I would recommend this to a friend

Great for the Non-ProfessionalPosted .
I’m pretty well versed with Photoshop and Lightroom, so I was excited to give this a try. I run a food blog, so editing photos is extremely important for the success of my blog. My initial thoughts are positive. There are quite a bit of options upon load, but it made me think this is perfect for the beginner as well as the seasoned photographer. Once you figure out what you want to do with your photos, you’ll really enjoy the features. There are three options when you first get started: Quick, Guided and Expert. Quick provides basic editing options for a photo. Guided provides a before/after option showing the changes you’ve done. It’s a great step-by-step process. Expert allows free range for you to edit the photo in anyway you want. This is essentially the keys to the castle, if you will. Another feature is the Organizer feature. This like it’s named, will organize all the photos based on year, people (will recognize faces) and places. Please be aware that this can take a lot of time pending how many photos you select. Although the face recognition isn’t 100% accurate, it’s very impressive. The price tag is far better than the full Adobe Suite products, so I’d recommend this as a start. There are a lot of great features, but it’ll take some time getting well versed. The photo I uploaded is a before and after of an edited image. The one on the left shows before and the right is the after. Enjoy!I would recommend this to a friend

More then meets the red eyePosted .
This is a full suite of photo edit tools for both the novice and the pro. The program provides step by step guided instructions to help you through picture fixes and photo projects. Once you create your adobe ID and password you can activate your product and you’re off to the races. The program provides extensive picture fixing tools in three categories, Quick, Guided and Expert. Depending on your knowledge level you will find a tool set that meets your needs. The accompanying web site has tons of fun apps to make slide shows with music, set up special effects, tag family and friends, trim photos and share on social media. There is so much that can be done with this application that it can be overwhelming at first glance. This is a great tool for anyone wanting to create photo projects or just touch up pictures to remove red eye and enhance color, balance, contrast, etc.I would recommend this to a friend

This software is wonderful. It does take a lot of experimentation, and training videos are very helpful. So far I have a lot more to learn, but the results I have already gotten make for spectacular finished pictures.I would recommend this to a friend

Best consumer photo editing optionPosted .
It's been a while since I last used Adobe Photoshop Elements. My last version was Elements 11, so I don't know how 2019 stacks up against the most recent versions after 11. I noticed that the home screen has become a little more web-centric with lots of tips and project suggestions. There are even options to use Premier Elements as well. I'm not a fan of all the Premier buttons because it seems like the developers lazily made only one home screen for all three products: Photoshop Elements, Premier Elements and the combo pack with both. It also keeps forcing Premier Elements down my throat with pop-up adverts in addition to the buttons I don't need or want. It's kind of cheesy and even a little annoying if like me, you have no interest in Premier Elements. Thankfully, it can be quickly dismissed after launching the editing or organizer screens. The organizer is somewhat helpful but still a bit clumsy like I remember it. I've always preferred Lightroom over Elements or any other organizer. Elements' organizer reminds me of the organizer on my phone. It has a lot of features that are fun but not particularly useful, such as showing the locations where geotagged photos were taken on a map. It's okay as an organizer if needed but I typically skip it. The program will prompt users to create an Adobe account and/or login to use the program. It seems more mandatory now than in the past. I already had an account, so I had no issues using it to sign in but I don't think you can use the software without logging in with an Adobe account. I see the editor now has three modes: quick, guided and expert. Quick is a basic set of tools for the most common edits (exposure, color, red eye, etc). Guided offers assistance with everything from basic edits to more advanced edits. Guided is pretty cool for users who want to apply advanced effects such as speed blur, sketch effects, multiple exposure and more. It offers a descriptive tile for each effect and when users click the tile it provides a completely guided editor window for applying that specific effect. Expert mode is for those familiar with and who have a working knowledge of the Photoshop editor. It’s the most similar in appearance to the Photoshop CC editor and has many of the same tools. There is also a quick launch menu in addition to the three different editor windows. The quick launch drop-down menu has shortcuts to create slideshows, collages, photo books, prints, greeting cards, calendars and CD/DVD labels and jackets. Workflow and navigation is very intuitive and it's easy to find exactly what you want within the program. That's a huge plus because every "easy" editor I've tried was either way too easy and underpowered or too hard to honestly be considered "easy". When done creating a project, PE 2019 exports to my choice of multiple available file formats quickly and efficiently. I noticed the program is pretty light on resources during editing, particularly system RAM. I run it on a six-year-old Windows laptop with 4GB of RAM and have experienced no problems at all so far. Now, I'm only performing basic edits and projects. Large projects or complex batch edits may be a little more taxing. Just be advised neither mac nor Windows versions support 32-bit operating systems. Your OS must be 64-bit to run Photoshop Elements 2019. Photoshop Elements 2019 has everything the normal home user needs. I definitely prefer it over less user-friendly competition like Paintshop or PhotoDirector. The only thing I don't like is the iron-fisted control Adobe exercises over the program. Installs are limited to two total. That means if your machine gets malware, if it malfunctions, is replaced or you simply decide that you'd prefer to use it on a different machine, you only get two total installs before being required to contact Adobe. I've never liked anti-piracy measures like these because they harm honest consumers way more than the actual criminals. My suggestion is to download the 30 day trial and try it on any machine you're contemplating installing this on. Once you're satisfied that's the machine you plan to stick with, the trial can be unlocked with the code from the retail version. Otherwise, try it on another machine and don't unlock until satisfied that you chose the best machine for the installation.I would recommend this to a friend

One of the bestPosted .
It’s difficult to know where to begin in evaluating something like Photoshop Elements. The program has been around in one form or another for more than 20 years. It is one of the most popular, well-known photo-editing programs in history. It is feature-packed, allowing you to do pretty much anything you can think of to a photo. The 2019 version continues the tradition. I have been using Elements 2019 for about two weeks, and I’ve barely scratched the surface on what it can do and what features to try. Editing photos, of course, is what this is all about, and I take lots of photos. It isn’t uncommon for me to return from a three or four-day trip with several hundred photos on my camera’s memory card. It’s when I return home and get them all downloaded to my computer that the work and fun begin. My most common tasks with photos are cropping, rotating (sometimes only a degree or two in one or the other direction—it’s always interesting to me how often I do not keep the camera level when taking a photograph), adjusting color and light balance, especially to bring out features hidden in shadow without over-lightening other areas of the photo, and renaming and categorizing the photos. Getting back to cropping, I think it is one of the most under-used features of this or any photo editing program, and, given how pretty much any photo-editing site or software has as rudimentary an editing feature as the ability to crop, I always wonder at the photos I see online that could be significantly improved by doing a two-minute cropping job to get rid of unwanted side features. Anyway, Photoshop, of course, makes all of this, and much more, easy. The program features three levels of use: Quick, Guided, and Expert, and, as the names suggest, each provides a different level of hand-holding and support, depending on your needs, how much you want to do to a photo, and how much help and guidance you need in doing so. I found that, with a little back-and-forth, I was able to touch up any photo any way I liked. This, of course, is the whole point. I will say, as a side-bar, that I am a big fan of the “for Dummies” series of self-help books, and I bought “Photoshop Elements 2019 for Dummies” to help me get started with the program. The program is so feature-rich that I find it difficult to learn how to do things, or to make sure that I’ve tried everything I might do to a particular photo, by just a loading a photo and “playing around” with it. I find that I want some kind of tutorial to take me through the basics and into the more intermediate and advanced features in a systematic way, and something like this book helps greatly. So, of course the program is highly recommended. How could it not be? If you work at all with photos, or if you’re just a serious hobbyist like me, you can’t do better than Photoshop Elements 2019. It is feature-rich, easy to use, and a good value for the money.I would recommend this to a friend

Good all around photo editing softwarePosted .
This is only my second time using a Photoshop product. My first venture in to it was many years ago and it slowed my desktop down so much that it was virtually unusable. This version is much better in that regard. After downloading it I clicked on a few of the links to see what all of the options were for photo editing projects. The software gives you options (Quick, Guided and Expert) based on your familiarity with Photoshop. Quick is for basic edits such as brightness adjustments and red eye corrections. Guided was nice for people like myself who have either never used Photoshop before or only done very basic photo editing. It does as it says and guides you through the edit(s) you are trying to accomplish. To be honest, I have not tried "expert" as the features are just too numerous and I haven't had much experience with Photoshop. My first project I used the mutli-photo text feature. This allows you to use multiple photos inside letters. My daughter's name has 6 letters, so I chose 6 photos of her. One for each letter. Moving and resizing the photos to fit each letter and find the best placement within each letter was quick and easy. I then tried changing the background on a few photos. Under the "Guided" option it was done in just a few clicks. My daughter when from a drab school picture background to sitting on the beach. Photoshop was able to perfectly outline her in the picture from me selecting the area that she was in from a rectangle. I then just selected the picture that I wanted to use as the background and it was done. It could not be easier. While my laptop that I have it installed on is aging and therefore slowing down, once the program is up and running it is fairly fast. To be fair, it was a lower end laptop to begin with. With a computer with ideal specs, it would be much faster. Photoshop Elements 2019 is great for new users, beginners and slightly more advanced users. The fact that it can easily guide you through what you are trying to do is immensely helpful for new users. It's also at a great price point. After getting my oldest daughter a Canon T6 last year we will certainly be using it all of the time for her photos as well as mine. I highly recommend giving it a try.I would recommend this to a friend
