Q: Is this the ad-supported version of the Fire?
A: Despite what other's have said, this is indeed the ad-supported version. You need to spend another $15 to remove the ads. The guy in the store even told me it was not the ad-supported version, but he was wrong. annoying.
Q: Can I download google apps, such as docs, slides etc.
A: Yes you can down load Google Play Store to any Fire Tablet. Just go to YouTube and there are tons of videos showing how to do it. It's not hard, just pay attention to how they do it. It won't hurt the tablet and it really opens up the usefulness of the Fire. Check H2TechVideos' channel on YouTube. It was the one I used and went very easily. Or just search how to download Google to Fire Tablet.

Q: Is the wi fi included within the unit?
A: Yes, the WiFi is included within the unit.
Q: If i have a netflexs account can i watch movies
A: yes. the netflix app is preinstalled.. just log in to your account and watch ...
A: No. After the most recent update, it does have Alexa, however.
A: The difference is this one has the SD card for expanded memory. It also was a bigger screen. You can play games on it just as you would on the 6" just with a bigger picture. I own both and prefer this one. I haven't used my 6" at all since I bought this one.
A: Yes you can save apps or most any files to the microSD card. The 16 GB version has about 11 GB of free space.
