A: The battery takes a good 30 minutes to fully charge, and it lasts my toddler about 4 hours before it needs to be charged again. If she isn't on it much, then the battery will last for days. We take it with us in the car and on long trips. This has actually been a life saver in the car when my 2 year old is bored. She loves having her own little tablet. It's very toddler friendly as well, my daughter can play the apps and select her movie without any issues. I would suggest getting the extra storage card- after we download 1 movie and a couple Dora episodes, the storage is pretty much full. Yes, you can definitely take it on an airplane. Best tech gift my daughter has ever gotten.

A: No, they are not downloaded from Google Play. Amazon has their own app store and access to 400,000 apps as opposed to the billions accessable on Google Play or the Apple app store. A lot of the very popular apps are available on the Amazon store. All you have to do is search through Amazon's apps to see if they are available. Netflix and ABCmouse.com are available.

A: For most things on there you need an internet connection. SOme things are downloaded right to the tablet and can run without internet. We have also bought videos through amazon video for the kids (peppa pig, bubble guppies, etc) and downloaded straight to the tablet and those can watched without an internect connection. It does take some time to download stuff, it isn't the fastest thing in the world. If you are going on a trip, you need to load it up the night before. We've also used our phones as mobile hotspots while traveling for internet access for the tablet, that seems to work pretty good and doesn't chew up data.
