Q: Does this devise come with lock screen ADs or is it sold without the automatic lock screen ads?
A: Hi Sydney! This version does come with special offers on the lock screen, however they can be removed for a one time fee. If you are looking for a device that comes without any ads out of the box, the Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition features 32GB of storage, has the ability to wirelessly charge, and always comes without lock screen ads. I hope that helps, have a great rest of your day!
Q: How much is the fee to remove ads, how dies it work?
A: Hi Lockscreen- Thanks for reaching out. The fee to remove ads (also called "Special Offers") from a Kindle device is $20. This is a one-time payment, not a subscription, and it permanently removes advertising from your device's lock screen and home screen. You can make this payment through your Amazon account's "Manage Your Content and Devices" section. I hope this helps, have a great day!
Q: Can you borrow books from your local city library?
A: Hi Interested! You can absolutely borrow books from your local library! The exact method is going to vary depending on who your local library works with, so I would reach out directly to them for the instructions. Many libraries work with Libby which provides a smart phone app to easily manage your holds and books on loan, and allows borrow books to be immediately delivered to your Kindle. I hope that helps, have a great rest of your day!
Q: Can I download books I own from an older kindle to this one?
A: Hello Peto, all of your purchased books are saved to your Amazon account. Once you log into the new Kindle Paperwhite you will see all of your purchased content. You can select which books you want to download onto your new device. Have a great day!
Q: Does this Kindle have text to speech? Can it read aloud to me?
A: Hello! Thank you for reaching out. The Kindle Paperwhite has a built-in text-to-speech feature called VoiceView that can read text aloud. Open the book you want to read, press the “Menu” button and navigate to the “Settings”. In the “Settings” menu, select “VoiceView” and turn on TTS. Once the function is enabled, you can start and stop narration by pressing and holding the “Play/Pause” button. Hopefully this helps! Have a great day!
Q: Can you adjust the size of the text to make it larger, for people that need larger text /
A: Yes you can. When in your book, use 2 fingers on the screen just like you would zoom in and zoom out on a picture on a cell phone.
Q: Can I read books from iBook's on kindle?
A: Hello and thank you for asking this question. Kindles do not have access to iBooks, however if you have files of Ebooks that you own on your Mac they can be transferred to the Kindle via a USB cable. I hope this answers your question and that you have a great day.

I bought a Kindle Paperwhite because I wanted to read more books. What I actually wanted was to feel like someone who reads more books. The Kindle delivers on both. It's black. Not "midnight obsidian" or "shadow noir" or whatever nonsense companies are calling black these days. Just black. Like my coffee. Like my outlook. Like the void I was trying to fill with impulse purchases before I decided to become a "reader." The screen looks like actual paper. I don't know how they did this. It's not backlit in a way that screams "I'm staring at a device." It's backlit in a way that whispers "I'm a thoughtful person who makes good choices." I've never felt more intellectually superior while reading a thriller about a woman who finds out her husband has a secret second family in Delaware. Sixteen gigabytes of storage. That's thousands of books. Thousands. I currently have eleven. But I could have thousands, and that's the point. The potential is there. I am one bad night and a glass of wine away from owning every book Oprah has ever recommended. It also plays Audible books. Through Bluetooth. To my AirPods. Which means I can listen to the books I'm not reading while I do other things I'm also not really paying attention to. I've "read" three books this month while doing dishes, folding laundry, and staring blankly at the wall. Productivity has never felt so passive. I'm not saying I retain any of it, but I'm definitely getting through the content. That counts. I've decided it counts. The battery lasts weeks. Weeks. I charged it once in January and I think it's still going. My phone dies if I look at it wrong. My laptop is basically a corded device at this point. But this Kindle? This Kindle has the energy I wish I had. It's in better shape than me. It's waterproof. I haven't tested this because I'm not a sociopath who reads in the bathtub, but I appreciate that the option exists. If I ever become the kind of person who "takes baths," I'm ready. The best part? No notifications. No emails. No "breaking news" about something I can't control. Just words. On a page. Or in my ears. In order. The way God intended before we all got phones and forgot what silence felt like. I bought this thing to read more, and now I read more. Or at least listen more. That's it. That's the review. It does what it says it does. In 2024, that's basically a miracle. Would absolutely buy again to continue pretending I'm the kind of person who finishes books.

Battery life lasts WEEEKS! I read almost every night since I got my kindle back in June. It has absolutely changed the reading game for me. Idk if I’ll ever be able to read a physical copy again. This will sound crazy but for the doom scrolling people that want to stop and think maybe a kindle will solve that because it’s a device and not a book I can say it 1999% will.
