Q: What is the range? How far away can a station be if mounted on the roof?
A: I found that its not just the distance from the broadcast tower but also the power of the signal. I got a channel that's over 45 miles away easier than one only 15 miles away. However in order to get all the channels I wanted I also had to buy an amplifier (I purchased the Antennas Direct product called 'The Juice').
Q: So what kind of channels would I get with this antenna
A: The channels you mention are pay channels and are not available on OTA antennas. You also don't receive channels that you pay for and don't watch like you do with cable and satellite bundles, and you don't receive channels with shows full of profanity. You do receive all your local channels, a few movie channels, some christian channels, a couple of DIY and home channels, ION telivision, Grit, WKNO and even a couple of spanish language channels. Something else you don't get is a $90.00 to $200.00 monthly bill for something you only watch 10% of. The shows you thought you couldn't live without (The Walking Dead) are soon not missed when you start to get you life back.
Q: can I mount this antenna in the attic
A: Yes, though its not easy as you'll have to fish cable through your attic, down walls to your TV. And you'll need a level to ensure that the antenna is perfectly level once attached to a rafter, both vertically & horizonally.
Q: We will be cutting the cord in the summer. Can we use the Comcast cable?
A: Yes but you may want to buy a higher grade cable since the Comcast one isn't the best. Enjoy the "no bill" each month. i do!
Q: Do you need and amplifier with this antenna?
A: Yes. No. Maybe. It all depends on your location and what your dwelling is constructed of. Go here: http://www.tvfool.com enter your address and you will get a map of the transmitters with their direction, distance and signal strength along with a list of channels and what you may need to get a good signal from them. It will also generate an anonymized link that you can then use in http://www.dtvusaforum.com to get further advise on what equipment to try.
A: This antenna comes with a mount that is fixed. If you wanted to be able to pick up channels that are located in different directions you would need a mount with a rotor as this is a directional antenna. In my case all channels are from one location so I point it in that direction and leave it. You will have to decide if u want to be able to target different areas or not. Most of the time you can get all the channels you want without moving the antenna.
Q: installation instructions for clearstream 4v antenna
A: With 4 tv's I would get a signal booster from Antenna Direct check out their website. But get the antenna sold by Best Buy because it has the additional antenna that allows you to pickup VHF channels also. This antenna has been working great for me.
Q: What is the difference between the C4-V-CJM and the C4-CJM models, besides the extra antenna on top?
A: The "V" in the model number stands for VHF, which is another band for tv stations. It includes the "extra antenna" and a diplexer to allow you to receive both UHF and VHF stations. Depending on your area, you may or may not have VHF stations. Your local station information can be found at sites like antennaweb.com, or tvfool.com.
