A: To use an iPencil on this device, you need to have the version 2 of the iPencil. The version will no work on this iPad Pro using the A12Z chip.

A: No this iPad does NOT support the first generation pencil. The 1st gen uses lighting to charge and connect. This iPad has USBC. The newer (2nd gen) pencil uses a magnetic connection to use inductive charging and establish the Bluetooth connection as well.
