Best Computer Ever

The newly designed aluminum iMac is the perfect computer for the Mac or PC user. It is an all-in-one computer so the speakers, display, everything is built in; you simply have to plug it into the wall to begin. There are no messy, tangled wires getting in your way. As soon as you take it out of the box it's ready to use. All the functions you could want are already built in: you can video conference with someone using the iSight, you can make your own video using Apple's iLife software (that comes with the computer). Upload your video or record your own video using the iSight camera. Use iMovie to edit the movie, add songs from your iTunes music library (or make your own soundtrack with GarageBand), add photos from your iPhoto library and then make a near professional looking DVD with iDVD. It's all too easy. Macs can run most PC software programs as well; Microsoft Office is also available for Mac. If that isn't enough for you then put Windows on you Mac. Macs have been proven to run Windows better that PC's can. Another thing, if you ever lose any documents... run Time Machine. It automatically backs up all of your files so you will never lose anything again. There are so many other reasons to buy a Mac that I could go on forever, but I will end with one last thing. Macs don't get viruses. You have probably already heard this before, but it's true. There is a slim chance that you will ever get a virus with an Apple product, but if you do, take it to an Apple technician and they will fix it for you.

Excellent Computer

After owning numerous DELL's and other brands of computers I have come to love my iMac. This thing is amazing. The screen layout/design is unbelievable. The great thing about it is that I have only one cord coming from my iMac and that is the power cord.
For just $60 more or so you can opt for the wireless keyboard and mouse, a must have. I use rechargeable batteries for it. If you use dial-up like I have to then you wont like the cheesy USB dial-up modem that costs $60. It works, but Apple should have built one into the machine. The iMac has built in wi-fi for wireless internet.
If you like windows based Microsoft Office (word, powerpoint, excel, etc.) then dont worry, Apple offers Microsoft Office iMac. I have it and it works great. I can even use Word on the iMac and save it to a thumb drive and pull up the same file on a Windows based operating system. The product is like $150 and worth the price.
I would say that if you are in the market for a reliable computer then this is the one for you. I also have the macbook laptop which is an excellent buy for under $1000.
5 Stars for this product.

Refreshing and Unbelievable

I have used Windows based machines for 20 years and after having had after a major battle with a warranty issue (with no satisfying result) I decided to give Apple a try. I must admit that it outclasses any Windows operating system that I have ever used. Many of its programs are similar to the other PC's but is much easier to use. It is lightning fast and easier on the eyes because of its brilliant display. I was amazed at its out of the box set up....took about 5 minutes! Of course this saved space not only on the desk but on the floor. And the peace of mind not having to worry about viruses, etc. because Apples rarely get them. The keyboard is elegant, quiet and absolutely gorgeous to look at. The Widgets are fantastic and I can keep up with the Dow Jones in one simple keystroke, along with the time, weather...etc. I cannot say enough good things about this system. By the way, I rate it OVER 5 stars! It is the BEST investment I have made in a long time!

I just bought my imac before Thanksgiving, so I'm still learning my way around. The big selling points for me about purchasing this imac was, security updates from Apple for free. Able to install and run Windows Vista or XP if I have a desire to do so. The compact size, I was blown away when I was speaking to the sales person at Best Buy, he was a great help. I asked where is the rest of the computer(the tower), he said "Your looking at the whole computer built into the monitor. After dealing with many, many problems with my Dell PC for 7 years, I have had it with complete rebooting my computer at least 4 times, done over the phone, speaking with someone from India, who is following a script, because I had an unusual problem, they did not know how to handle it. So all I have to say is "
Thanks, Mac!. And goodbye to "P"oor "C"omputer!

Best Computer for your money

Other than very few complaints this computer is far more intelligent than any p.c I have ever own. It even tells me when I misspell words as I type this. As many reviews have said it is a "smart" computer and knows what to in any situation. I would recommend this computer to anyone who is fed up with p.c s because it runs so much faster. If you like to play games the graphics on it are super. The best part is that there is no viruses so you don't have to buy virus protection every year! It is a perfect computer for beginners or advanced users.

An amzaing computer...but one annoyance

This is my 2nd Mac and first Mac desktop, having owned a laptop for 2 years now. When it came time to update my desktop I knew I had my eyes on this new iMac. This computer is totally awesome. First off, the hardware is very elegant looking and with no tower to mess with, it cleans up your desktop clutter and makes alot more room. So far it has been everything that I expected and more. It seems so much faster than any PC I have ever used. The glossy screen does not bother me at all and is not even noticeable while the machine is on. I have no issues with the glossy screen, except it looks cool when the machine is off. The only minor complaint I have is that I feel the headphone port is in a inconvenient location behind the screen with the rest of the ports. I always listen to music as I'm on the computer and its annoying to reach around the back and try to find the port all the time to plug/unplug the headphones. Plus you can't sit or move your head far away since the wire runs all the way around to the back. I think Apple could have put an extra headphone port on the bottom or on the side somewhere instead. But other than that it's an amazing machine.

I finally made the switch. Now I wish that I had years ago.
It will take a little time getting used to the mac x operating system, but it is truly superior to windows. I am running the leopard system and it is trouble free. About six months ago I bought a laptop with vista and it took weeks to weed out the junk and I still have hang ups with it, now I let the kids use it. I have had my imac for about three weeks and it has revitalized my longing to be at my computer. In fact I might be spending to much time at it.
Ilife alone is worth the change, and you also get time machine for backing up your system, and this thing is smart, (like a computer should be) it recognizes almost everything, making nearly any setup applications a snap.

Best computer I have ever used

When I first brought this computer I thought I might have made a mistake. I couldn't get it to do much of anything. I could not get the external modem to realize my phone line was connected, my printer wouldn't print and I had problems using the software on the computer. I took the computer back to Best Buy and the Geeks checked it out. They said the computer was fine. The problem was with my knowledge of using the MAC software. So i kept the computer and brought a book explaining the different between Windows software and MAC software. I knew Windows but was no expert. I was able to do anything I wanted done. After reading the book, I realized the problem was in my phone line. ( Too much noise) I connected up to my cable high speed Internet provider, down loaded my soft ware updates and now everything works fine. Leopard is the best This is the best computer I have ever used and I have owned or used 5 different brands. I would give it 5 stars but the cons wouldn't let me do it.
