The Smart Battery Case for iPhone 7 gives you extra battery life with the look and protection of an Apple-designed case. Combined with the Smart Battery Case, iPhone 7 provides up to 22 hours of battery life for browsing the web, up to 24 hours of watching HD video, and 26 hours of talk time.¹ The Smart Battery Case also works intelligently with your iPhone to charge simultaneously when you’re plugged in, so both case and iPhone will have more than enough battery life to get you through the day, and then some. The soft elastomer hinge and one-piece design make it easy to put the case on and take it off. You can even connect it to any Lightning accessory, such as the Lightning Dock. And iOS 10 allows you to see the battery status of your iPhone 7, your Smart Battery Case, and even your Apple Watch, all in one place. Available in black and white.

¹Testing conducted by Apple in August 2016 using preproduction iPhone 7 units and software paired with preproduction iPhone 7 Smart Battery Case units and preproduction software.
Video tests consisted of repeated playback of a 2-hour, 23-minute movie purchased from the iTunes Store.
Internet tests were conducted over 3G, LTE, and Wi-Fi networks using a dedicated web server, browsing snapshot versions of 20 popular web pages, and receiving mail once an hour.
Talk-time tests were conducted by placing a cellular phone call.
All settings were default except: Bluetooth was paired with headphones; Wi-Fi was associated with a network for all but the Internet 3G and Internet LTE tests; the Wi-Fi feature Ask to Join Networks and Auto-Brightness were turned off.
All battery claims depend on network configuration and many other factors; actual results will vary.

Many appreciate the ease of use and the sleek design, while some find the added weight and price to be drawbacks. A few users noted concerns about the case's durability over time.

I've purchased the white smart battery-case for iPhone 7. The apple smart battery works fairly well, as a battery-pack. However, as a case isn't as intuitive, or has the quality you will expect from an Apple pruduct. The case is a disappointment; the silicon surface absorbed colors from fabric and dirt from the surroundings. Additionally, it started chipping in the corners (chunks of silicon material fell off), at least mine did within two weeks of use. Best Buy, will not exchange it, since the purchase took place over 14 days. I was told to deal with Apple directly. When you spend $100 you expect better quality and service.
Positives: good backup-battery pack, works and fits well, it has a nice feel, and it's fairly light
Negatives: case chips easily, discoloration, the white case easily absorbs colors and dirt from the environment, expensive, poor support/service from Bestbuy and Apple.

Although the case holds a good charge, it lacks many of the features other battery cases have. The battery case has the worst wear and tear I have ever had on a case and I have had it for less than a year.

Had it for a year and while the battery still holds, the material is just falling appart and it seems to be a design flaw since my coworker had the same problem. Here are some pictures from my phone snd my coworkers phone. Not a good purchase, specially for the price.

The case keeps your phone 100% charged until it runs out of. Once that happens your phone starts using its charge.
Pros:
1. doubles up battery life.
2. Charges with the Lightning cable which first charges your phone and then the case.
3. Comfortable to use, smooth feeling.
Cons:
1. Price is too high. Compared to other cases that have a higher charge.
2. Adds a little weight and length, but didn’t bother me. It wasn’t something significant.
3. Doesn’t have much resistance to drops. Does protect your phone, but tears very easily due to the smooth surface.

This is a good case for those looking for extra battery but don't want to add much to the size of their phone and appreciate apples simple designs. It uses the same silicone as the regular apple brand silicone case which feels nice in the hand and offers a nice grip. I found the case to be a bit heavy and bulky because I prefer the slim and light cases like apples leather case. The silicone will fade at the corners of the case over time as well and the case shows grease stains from the oils of your hands easily. Other than that it's a great case and I recommend over most other battery cases out there. It also uses apples lighting charger so there's no need to carry around an extra charger.

Only a year in, and my iPhone 7 is experiencing dramatically lower battery life than when it began. So I went on the hunt for a battery case that would reliably save the day for my phone.
I've tried two (and returned two) other brands of battery cases for this, one was a high-rated case from Amazon, the other was from a suspicious and possibly a tad fraudulent company called PowerPlusCases. Both were of somewhat cheap make, and the PowerPlusCases battery, while containg 5500mAh of power, tended to overheat quickly.
I didn't necessarily want to turn back to Apple (we have trust issues these days), and there are many low reviews for this pricey case, but when I found it in store for $84 I thought I may as well give it a shot. I don't mind the shape, and the hinge design makes removing the iPhone easy and safe, and so far I haven't experienced any crazy amount of dust collecting or peeling for the silicone/grippy texture, as some other users have. The major problem at first was getting it to accept a charge from off-brand cheap cables, so buyers please be aware, you may experience difficulty charging this case unless you purchase Apple Certified quality lighting cables and adapters.
Once that was sorted, charging both my phone and the case to full capacity separately was the best way to begin the synchronization without any crazy disconnects/reconnects. Once both were fully charged, I was then able to begin using it seamlessly. It keeps my iPhone at 100% until it's drained, and I can keep an eye on its battery life in realtime because the iPhone recognizes it as an official accessory. That's nifty.
Overall, my phone lasts at least twice as long, I don't know exactly how much mAh it puts out, but it does it's job without overheating, and it recharges every night (phone first, then case) without any fuss.
TL;DR
I am actually liking the "Smart" aspect of this case, 1 month in, it works well and seems reliable. I am hoping it will hold up it's track record, for its price I expect to be getting at least a solid year out of it. We'll see.

I had been putting off getting this case for my iPhone 7 for over a year. Disappointed with the battery life of the 7 (after deciding that the 6 Plus was just too big for my smallish hand) I felt that I needed to do something drastic to avoid having to charge my dwindling battery numerous times a day. Apple Watch's constant bluetooth connectivity and a shameless Pokemon Go addiction are the likely culprits for this exorbitant energy expenditure. I waited long enough to buy the case that I found myself in an iPhone 8 before finally breaking down. I guess I had hoped that Apple would be doing something miraculous to extend the battery life of this next gen iPhone, but as you can see from the fact that I finally bought this case, the battery life is sorely lacking. This case is velvety smooth, shock absorbing rubber to the touch. It's a little heavy, but it's still pretty sleek despite the "bump". The rubber stays put on surfaces, which is a nice thing to have protecting your big dollar iPhone from gliding off into Apple Care repair land. The battery case comes complete with an elegant charging process and the overall Apple wonderfulness is featured. When you charge your phone in the case the phone charges first and then the case charges. Conversely, during use, the case depletes first and then the phone runs down on battery. The iPhone tells you what's going on with the battery on the case and the battery on the phone at the same time. It's pretty wonderful. I just wish that I did not need to get a secondary device to extend the battery life of my ridiculously expensive new iPhone, but that is not the fault of the device I am reviewing, so I will save that story for another day. The fit is perfect, just as one would expect from an Apple product. The price was discounted (thanks, Best Buy and eBates rewards) but it was not nearly cheap enough!
A:It’s not wireless, but it’s a case the phone will stay in, and it will charge the phone throughout the day using its battery, while not plugged in. When plugged in, it charges up the phone and case’s battery so that you can unplug and have extended battery life. You will always have to plug in to charge.
