Apple doesn't care about their customers!!!
|Posted .Owned for 1 year when reviewed.Features
Quality1 out of 5Value1 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5This review will be as much about about Apple as a company and the way they treat their customers, as it is about the actual product which DID failed 2 months out of warranty at no fault of the owner. My son got his MacBook Pro when he started college last year. Instead of buying him a $400 laptop, we splurged on a Macbook Pro for more than 3 times the price. It was a splurge, but we figured spread out over 4 years it's okay. Well, the computer only lasted 1 year and 2 months. Then the screen turned in 6 vertical pink bars when opened more than 90 degrees. See picture) After several stops at the Apple Store and multiple calls to tech support in California, these are my findings: 1) Apple acknowledged that my son was very unlucky and ended up with a (according to Apple very rare) defective product, not his fault. If this would have been a car, the LEMON LAW would have applied. 2) EVERYONE at Apple told us we should have bought the extended warranty (I guess paying a premium price for a premium product doesn't mean anything anymore...). Your APPLE product MOST LIKELY will fail before it is 3 years old. Reassuring words directly from the selling company (sarcasm). 3) We were 2 months out of warranty, the Macbook looked like new. No dents, scratches or anything. TOO BAD, out of warranty is out of warranty. Upfront cost to fix the problem $475 (!!!!) 4) The Apple tech guys in California told me to go back to the Apple Store (at Coconut Point in Estero, FL) and plead with a manager for a fair solution because everyone agreed that it was NOT our doing that the Macbook Pro broke. It clearly was a hardware failure INSIDE the Macbook Pro. 5) Going back to the Apple Store and talking to the manager got me nowhere. The manager told me literally that Apple's responsibility to it's shareholders is MORE IMPORTANT to them than helping out it's customers. When I asked him that this means that I am out of luck (I actually used a different phrase but I cannot put that in this review), he simply said YES you are. So now I have an unusable Macbook Pro in "like new" condition with the option of spending almost $500 on a USED and out of warranty product or just throwing it out and buy something else. I hate throwing good money after bad, so I will have to buy my son another computer. This time it will not be an Apple. As a matter of fact, I will never buy an Apple product again for as long as I live. I will phase out the 6 iPhones I have in my family and I will encourage everyone to learn from my experience. It can happen to you too!! Apple does NOT care about you. On a final note; under the agreement that Best Buy has with Apple, Best Buy is NOT ALLOWED to touch Apple computers for repair, even if the Apple product is out of warranty. Also, Apple purposely designs it's products in such a way that it is virtually impossible to fix any problems. As you know, you cannot add memory to your MacBook or iPhone, you cannot add your hard drive capacity, you cannot replace your battery, the screen is glued in and cannot be replaced without replacing the entire top shell of the Macbook, on and on and on. So Apple has put everything in place VERY DELIBERATELY to make sure that you cannot fix your product when you encounter a problem. A despicable company. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.

Worthy Investment

Quality4 out of 5Value4 out of 5Ease of Use4 out of 5A lot of users complain about the butterfly keyboard and shorter travel between keys. It takes an adjustment period but I like this keyboard. The computer provides me with enough power and speed for web development and coding. I’ll keep this model (2017) until I upgrade. Worthy investment. /bklyn

Great Mackboo Pro
|Posted .The 13" MacBook Pro (latest 2017 model) is a great laptop. I have always loved Apple products for its performance, design etc.,I already own iPhone, iPad and this is the first Macbook. It is great to have them all sync and bunch of other features working together. MacBook Pro 13.3 is a good size, , you can see and read everything on the screen really well, with Retina display pictures are more vibrant and brighter. The laptop is fast with the SSD booting macOS. The new keyboard layout is great as well. Many complain about the noise when typing. I don't use keyboard much so I don't have any complaints. However, if you're used to Apple keyboards you'll love it. They last, they look good, they work. If this your first Macbook purchase, I would say Buy it!!, you won't be disappointed.

Great laptop for traveling!
|Posted .Owned for 1 month when reviewed.Features
Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use4 out of 5I had been shopping around awhile for a laptop and finally settled on a Macbook Pro. I've actually never owned an Apple product. I mainly needed one for uploading gopro videos and creating travel videos. And also for working on my blog. Since I don't have any video editing programs, I decided on a Mac so I can use iMovie. So far the laptop has worked great! It's very lightweight, sleek, and easy to travel with on a plane. Since I travel on planes a lot, I needed something that was easy to work on the go. This laptop is great for that!

Best laptop ever
|Posted .This is definitely the best laptop I have ever had. It's a workhorse! My backpack fell out of the back door of my van and hit cement, Dented my laptop, but it continues to work like a charm.

Smooth and Super fast
|Posted .I switched to MacBook after using other laptops recently. My first impression Is Awesome. I see lot of difference. It is super fast, smooth key board and soft navigation mouse pad. You really feel comfortable and hassle free operation. The sound quality is superb it really plays loud and great sound. I stopped using my Tv and home theater to watch any series and watching it on my MacBook. I also do my office work and it is comfortable to use for longer periods. Retina display is super cool and the battery is great. One word Apple is Awesome.

Q: Questionwhat can the MacBook do that their regular tablets can't? I bought the 9.7 new tablet and am amazed and wondered what else the MacBook can do that makes me wonder if I should have just gotten this instead.
Asked by MommyDearest619.
- A:Answer I feel like the laptop is aimed at different kind of customers, tablet is a media consumption device, unless you get a surface pro. But the macbook can run full programs as opposed to the ipad

Q: QuestionAfter installing the newest Mac OS how much room is left on the 256gb ssd?
Asked by Charlie.
- A:Answer A bit over 230gb. Mac OS Sierra is about 17~18gb on the MacBook Pro I purchased 2 weeks ago (promptly updated). Of course, that does not include the apps already on the system. With pre-installed apps, you're looking at something like 220gb (+/- 5gb). There are quite a few gigs which can be freed up there.
